I tend to agree, in general, mostly because I'm a bigger Obi-Wan fan and not much of an Anakin fan, so I'm usually of the opinion that Obi-Wan's life would be better without Anakin in it.

That being said, it's hard to ignore that Obi-Wan's character DOES revolve around Anakin in the Skywalker Saga. Even in things that he isn't in for one reason or another, he's often there in spirit somehow (referenced, foreshadowed, paralleled, etc). Obi-Wan's relationship to Anakin is VITALLY important to his story and often to understanding his character. Obi-Wan was built as the "Good Father" to Vader's "Bad Father" in ANH and in the Original Trilogy overall, and much of his characterization in Lucas's films stems from that concept. So it's not shocking that a lot of fans and other writers will also center that relationship and focus on it when writing about Obi-Wan.

HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that ALL exploration of his character must always include Anakin, or that as a character he shouldn't be allowed to MOVE ON from Anakin. I certainly believe that he could and would take on other padawans in happy fix-it AUs (padawans that AREN'T Ahsoka). I don't agree with the idea that a time traveling Obi-Wan who knows about Order 66 would still insist on training Anakin himself (I COULD still understand him insisting on Anakin being trained in general, since I do think that Jedi training would be vital to helping Anakin resist darkness, but I don't know how comfortable Obi-Wan would feel about taking on that training himself again). I believe that he WOULD feel more betrayed by Anakin having broken more of his oaths than Obi-Wan had ever realized, that he would be upset to know that Anakin had massacred a village of Tuskens and gotten married to a Senator and lied about both things.
