I just think that if you didn't grow up in a conservative/homophobic society you're probably not going to get what's going on in sram and that's understandable. it fucks you up tho, growing up around those beliefs, so much that any sort of romantic affection feels wrong at first and it takes a lot, a fucking lot, of work to feel normal, happy, and content with yourself and your desires.

I told myself I'd outgrown the skam universe but it feels refreshing to see this story told so delicately. this mentality that queer media should only show “queer joy” is a boring take and not reflective of a lot of experiences. queer joy can also look differently to what you might think! I personally find it more comforting and meaningful to watch an authentic story rather than a made up fantasy.
