Dear You,
Nobody deserves to be outside at 3:30 in the morning, crying because of the things their spouse has said. Nobody deserves to feel broken by the very person who promised to love and cherish them.
You were supposed to be my safe place. You were supposed to protect my heart, not shatter it. A spouse should be the one to comfort in the dark, not the reason for the tears that fall there.
Love was meant to heal, to hold, to cherish. But instead, it’s left me out here alone, hurting, questioning how the one I trusted most could be the one to wound me the deepest.
