I think the biggest reason why some FNaF fans can't handle movie Michael Afton is because they don't want Michael to be anything other than a silly little himbo who means well but has a lot of regret

i think a lot of it is because he's so different in comparison to what most of the community has been lead to believe (survival logbook) and looking at him any differently is hard. scott deciding to give him identity in a series that never gave him more than a sprite is of course going to spark some conflict in the community.
