Interactive Wall Installation
Design Project by Siddharth Mankad, Aashka Shah and Sunil Vallu.
An Interactive wall that generates graphics based on motion. The tracking is done using a Wide Angle webcam. The code is written in Processing 1.0 using the flob and geomerative libraries.
Special Thanks to Eric Natze for porting the Ribbons to Processing.
Oldie but a Goodie
Working together with the amazing Emily Gobeille, we created the interactive installation, 'Funky Forest' which premiered at the 2007 Cinekid festival in the Netherlands. 'Funky Forest' is an interactive ecosystem where children create trees with their body and then divert the water flowing from the waterfall to the trees to keep them alive. The health of the trees contributes to the overall health of the forest and the types of creatures that inhabit it. http://muonics.nethttp://zanyparade.com
T-Shirt Maker (academic case study for Volcom) (by Marco Heleno)
We wanted to create a commercial product, aimed at a specific label, that gives the user the possibility to create his/her design on a t-shirt, in an intuitive and a interactive way. The concept of “make your own t-shirt” could be, for the brand represented an investment and an opportunity to promote their brand and products. This was a school group briefing/project.

Google’s Project Glass headset... is now an (augmented) reality
Google co-founder Sergey Brin took the stage at the conference for a live demo of Project Glass. The skydivers broadcast their jump from just above the Moscone Center in San Francisco via a live Google+ Hangout — and for the audience at home. http://mashable.com
Finally some actual footage... a bit of an extreme demo... but it caught my attention... but how is it not just a hands free streaming video device... what are the wearers seeing that makes it an 'augmented' experience?... hmm...
Google designer Isabelle Olsson said the classes are "designed to interact with the virtual world without distracting you from the real world... close to your senses, but not blocking. http://news.cnet.com
And... is this the best use case scenario they could come up with!!!???...
"The baby looks into the mom's eyes, they connect. While doing that, she can capture this moment without any distractions," said Isabelle Olsson, the Project Glass lead designer. http://news.cnet.com
Dont get me wrong... I totally want one!

GS Caltex Pavilion
Korea: EXPO Yeosu, Living Ocean and Coast, 2012

Eighteen metres high, so-called blades sway like grass in the wind. Touching activates individual sensitive blades and illuminates them.
http://www.designboom.com:
atelier brückner, an architecture and exhibition design studio based in germany, designed the 'gs caltex pavilion' for the 2012 korea expo in yeosu, south korea... philipp rahlenbeck was responsible for the programming of the blades outside and the media was orchestrated by tamschick media + space.

These are the 3,997 different Android devices that OpenSignalMaps users experienced the app with.
App designers want to create an ideal experience for every user. But how on earth can anyone design for 4,000 distinct devices, including obscure Hungarian tablets?

Kinect Conception: Matieres Choregraphiques
This Kinect Conception uses your hand motions to help model and construct a 3d object within Rhinoceros & Grasshopper. Might this be a new way to interface with parametric design?
Facebook Employees Paint Giant QR Code On Rooftop
The Video!
When the last of the employees moved in to our new Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, Mark Zuckerberg announced a "Space Hackathon." His post encouraged everybody to decorate the new space to make it our own—tag the walls with spray paint, hang cool posters, and hack the building with some patented Facebook personality. But a few of us interpreted the call to action a bit too literally. We decided that we wanted our "space hack" to actually be visible from space. We wanted to hack the globe. Mark Pike's Facebook note
For now you’ll need an airplane or Facebook security badge to get a look at it first-hand. http://techcrunch.com/
According to the team, the 42-foot wide code can even be scanned from the skies.
What scanners will find, however, remains a mystery as it now simply redirects to a "coming soon" landing page. http://designtaxi.com/news
