Chaotic Midwestern

The retailer I will be working for is an excellent employer. They offer a high hourly rate, excellent benefits, stock options, a 401K, and the only chance I might have at a pension having to do a career pivot like this at middle age. This job pays enough to support a family on a single income.

I may have to work my ass off, and it may not be glamorous. But goddamnit, I'll have something to show for my work at the end of the day, and that's more than I can say after giving Microsoft 10 years of my life.

For a player of his caliber, who regularly makes play-offs, he's probably making $8-$10 million a year off hockey alone. He has sponsorships, just not as many as Shane.

He owns a VERY nice house in Boston and has a sports car collection in the books. He doesn't make as much as Shane, but he still makes a substantial amount.

It's not as obvious in the show because of budget constraints, but make no mistake, both Shane and Ilya have fuck you money. Their NHL pensions alone will pay out $275,000 annually, between that and other retirement funds and basic investments, neither of these boys are ever going to be broke.

Well, no, not really.

Now, it's of course not the fault of people working at these GCC's. They're the same as any of us, just people trying to survive this miserable world that bug eyed tech bros have created. They're not the enemy. The owners certainly are, but not the employees.

My point is, rich people are cooperating with each other at a global scale to depress the pay and value of work for every western or even remotely well paid population on the globe by using workers in the lowest wage countries in the world like a cudgel.

We should maybe stop letting them do that, because coming out of the tech sector, that behavior has the potential to do damage AI never even thought of doing.

Then you put the music on, and suddenly you're in Miami in 1986. Possibly fleeing from dystopian authorities depending on where your maladaptive daydreams take you.

So, so many of my writing choices can be blamed on this music playing in the background when I'm crafting a scenario.
