In another world

How had she managed to get lost just walking from her dorm to class? She walked this route every single day and yet here she was. Carmilla was now wandering around helplessly, stopping the first person who passed her. “Hey, I know this is going to make me sound completely crazy but I’m kind of lost right now and I don’t know how to get to the college. Could you help me? I’ve been wandering around for hours.”

Coraline had been past the college many times and probably knew the by heart now.  “ Yeah, sure. I can do that.  “ she agreed with a simple shrug. “ Just follow me. “ she replied as she begun to lead the way. 

usagi stood, eyes wide, staring at coraline. “coraline!” it’s like something snapped in her brain and she quickly moved over to try and hug the other, face sad. “i am so so sorry. i don’t know what happened, but i’m not wearing my ring.” not that she remembered what it looked like anyway, but usagi was sure that if she was married she would have a ring, and a really pretty one at that. and yet, when she looked down at her hand there was no ring. why was she always so careless. “i’m sure it’s just like at home or something, i mean there’s no way i lost it right? that would make me a horrible wife.”

A look of confusion was quick to cross the girl’s expression. “ Ring? “ she repeated, tilting her head slightly. “ I’m sorry but, what ring? “ she finally asked. If she had given her a ring she definitely would have remembered. Coraline wasn’t completely sure what she was talking about but decided to humor her anyway. “ Well, I mean that doesn’t make you a horrible wife, there’s other factors that go into a marriage. “ she explained. “ I mean everyone makes mistakes like that sometimes. “ 

“You’re here again? Do you always hang out in strange places? I’m beginning to understand why your parents don’t give a shit about you,” Diana murmured, a small scoff falling from the woman’s lips as she turned away from the other. “Maybe you should try doing things kids your age do instead of lurking about.”

 Coraline had honestly enjoyed the short time that they had spent together. She thought that Diana was pretty cool and was starting to look up to her even. However when she had heard what she said, she tried to keep a look of disappointment off her features. “ You know what, just forget about it. “ she replied shaking her head. 

“ Is it just me or this place extremely creepy without the power on? ” A chuckle of amusement fell from Diana’s lips as she looked over at the girl she had found herself stuck inside the museum with, initially planning to help the girl on a school project but that was soon put aside for more important matters. She pursed her lips as rested her cheek against her hand, “ Will your parents be worried about you? ”

Coraline turned to the older female and quickly nodded in response. “ Definitely. “ she agreed. The girl had always found the place fairly creepy even with the lights on but she didn’t have the heart to tell her that. At the question she simply shrugged. “ Honestly? I doubt they’d even know I was gone. “ 

Peter stared down at the bag in his hands, the burger and fries inside beyond tempting. He’d bought them on an urge despite knowing he shouldn’t. He bit down on his lower lip before looking up to find someone to pawn the food off onto. “Here! Take this! I can’t break my New Year’s resolution just yet. It’s only the third day into the year and I’ve already bought junk food. Please, before I engulf this like a starve whale.”

Caroline wasn’t quiet sure how to react to someone throwing a bag of food into her arms especially since  this person was a total stranger. “ What the hell are you giving me this for? “ she asked eyeing the bag suspiciously. “ And if you didn’t want it why did you buy it in the first place? “ 

Lizzie was a vision in pink. It almost felt silly, going all out for a small town ball, but she hadn’t had an event like this to dress up for a while and she couldn’t help but get excited. She had even worn heels despite usually worrying about looking too tall in normal shoes. She didn’t mind the fact that she didn’t have a date, except for the fact it was making it difficult for her to find someone to dance with. With no other options she bounced up to the nearest stranger, a wide smile on her face. “Hey, you’ll dance with me right? Since this is a ball and we basically have to dance. Please?” She didn’t even bother asking if they already had a date. That didn’t matter to her. You could have a friendly dance with anyone after all. “I’ll be fun, I promise. I’m a great dancer.”

Coraline had been having a a fairly decent time at the ball. She felt like she could let lose and just have fun for a little while. The only part that got her was watching everyone else with their dates while she was completely alone. Once she heard the request she blinked a bit in surprise. She didn’t expect anyone to ask her for a dance, let alone a pretty girl. “ You really wanna dance with me? “ she asked out of surprise. “ I mean, sure. “

“No peeking! Okay?” It was probably a silly thing for the boy to have said considering he was currently guiding Coraline in the direction of the surprise he had prepared for her, hands covering her eyes. Once he came to a stop he allowed his hands to fall to his sides, revealing the sight of their own little tea-party that he had set up for them in the woods. There were battery powered LED lights decorating the table, the white twinkling lights and tiny candles illuminating a beautiful scene before them. “What do you think? Is it lame… or?”

Coraline followed along to the sound of his voice a slight smile spread across her lips. While the girl would have never admitted it she felt as excited as a kid on Christmas, anticipating the surprise he had planned for her. Once he removed his hands, she glanced around her lashes fluttering with slight surprise. A soft chuckle fell from her lips before leaning over to kiss him on the cheek. “ It’s perfect, Max. “ she promised him.
