Resolving the Legion situation at Nelson was surprisingly easy, especially considering I'm not in the best shape yet. I spoke to Ranger Milo before heading down into Nelson and he made it sound a lot worse. Joking about needing “a few dozen doses of Psycho” to resolve this. Also wanted me to mercy kill the troops those sick legion fucks had crucified.
Didn't need Psycho and didn't mercy kill any troops. Boone also commented on the whole mercy killing thing, seems he's had some bad experiences with it. Speaking of him, looked like he had a good time killing those legionaries, understandably so.
Next stop is Boulder City if nothing happens on the way but for now we're taking one more night's rest at Novac.
All this travel and meeting so many different people has had me thinking about my past. Memories have been coming back slowly. I've met so many people, communities, families (not even blood related) in such little time. I guess it's making me a little sentimental about my own upbringing.
I don't have a good relationship with my family. Not a relationship with them at all. I've also been traveling solo for so long. It's been years (?) since I've had someone travel with me. Sometimes I tag along with others. Alongside merchants, mercenaries, nomads, whoever happens to move the same direction as me.
I suppose I'm realizing how alone I've been, even in the company of others. I think it's making me upset? Sad? I don't know.
Whether Boone will stay is also questionable. We barely know each other after all. Theoretically he could also just go kill legionaries on his own, though that would be way more dangerous. I guess I'll see.

Here's some Charlie Lore, can also be found on his strawpage via the stats page:
Life Prior to the Mojave
Two bullets to the head have severely messed up their memory. On top of that Charlie doesn't tend to speak much about his past anyway, the most important to him is the here and now. Most of their memories come back slowly over time, their teens, young adulthood and their many years as a courier up until the fateful day in Goodsprings, however some parts of their life stays forgotten. In some cases he wishes memories would've stayed forgotten.
Charlie was born into NCR territory, Junktown to be specific. He grew up to be very handy due to the abundance of farmlands around Junktown. Their early life wasn't very out of the ordinary until they reached their teenhood.
Charlie figured out their trans identity pretty early in their life and found the first proper terms to describe himself at fifteen. He started his social transition at sixteen and quickly started hormone replacement therapy after.
There's another section below this marked by "---" if you'd like to skip this part
TW: Sexual Assault, Transphobia
Charlie was sexually assaulted sometime in his teens, when he was about sixteen or seventeen. Correctional rape that was supposed to stop him in his transition.
They normally don't talk about it, trying to keep the memory as far back in their mind as possible. During the time they regain their memories after the gunshot wound they start having nightmares about the event. The stories of Corporal Betsy, Pretty Sarah and victims of the Legion visibly affect them, which is how they eventually end up opening up to Boone about it. Charlie doesn't want pity, he just wants justice for other victims which is one of the things that motivates him to kill legionaries. That sense of justice also helps with the consciousness of taking another life.
---
Due to family problems regarding his identity he ended up leaving Junktown at nineteen and started his work as a courier in NCR territory. Shortly after leaving he also got a mastectomy and hysterectomy, another major step into living as the person he was always meant to be.
Something that had established itself rather early in his childhood is his interest in the pre-war world and a general curiosity towards the world. He loves to learn new things, history, skills or even silly trivial things. While not the most charismatic, his upbringing in Junktown, a settlement known for its hospitality, aids him in approaching people of interest.
While he usually travels solo, as he doesn't like the responsibility of having to watch out for another person, he does often end up tagging along with other groups. Merchants, caravans, mercenaries, nomads, whoever happens to move in the same direction as him. They show gratitude to those who let them tag along by helping out wherever they can.
Between courier jobs and sometimes on the way to destinations, he also worked a bunch of odd jobs. He picked up a few skills in the process. Due to this he's really handy, including with most things technology.
Charlie's years of travel throughout the Republic didn't stand in their way of experimenting however. They had a fling every so often, especially in their early twenties, which included a handful of NCR soldiers over the years. He's secure in his identity, both sexuality and gender. If you asked them to describe themself they would as masculine but not your typical guy. They feel disattached from manhood but like to be read as male, it makes travel safer too. Charlie doesn't go around talking about being trans but when it does come up, like someone seeing their mastectomy scars, they're open about it but won't tolerate any weird behavior regarding it.
The delivery of the Platinum Chip from Primm to New Vegas was just supposed to be another routine courier job but fate had different plans for Charlie.
