Doing Better

I think that it's imperative that we maintain the legacy of Black Baby Boomers. They are the one's that pushed the boundaries, forcing doors open that we would have never had the option of entering otherwise. They are the one's that went to school getting spat on and harassed by their elders and peers. They are the one's that challenged the status quo. They are the ones that sat in the back of humid buses and sipped from water fountains that were labeled to demonize their skin color. They were denied jobs, respect and various opportunities, but they still made away. They gave us Hip-Hop, Pop, funk, R&B and dances that will span a life time. Their style was so iconic that even racist high-end fashion designers incorporate their influences on the runway today. Black Baby Boomers were movers and shakers!! Don't let their legacy die by forcing them to be labeled with the very people that not only oppressed them, but also aims to oppress us.
