"A letter John wrote to my wife (his sister, Julie)"

John's brother-in-law, Richard, recently has started very kindly sharing some photos, memorabilias and memories with John on the Queen reddit. Given another comment of his it seems Julie passed away a few years ago 😔 I also remember reading a comment of his a couple of years ago on YouTube where he said to be John's brother-in-law and to have seen lots of Queen concerts.

Queen fans are such a wonderful crowd. The band always impressed me with the genuine love and respect they felt for their fans- it was always about them. We had a letter from John to Julie a bit earlier than the one I posted where he said he’d just ’joined a group called Queen’. It seems to have gone missing along the way…
(When asked if he met John back in the days or nowadays) Yes, we had quite a few family days (we both had young children), but as I was in the military, we saw him much less when I started overseas postings. He was best man at our wedding and also ‘gave away’ Julie because their Dad had died when they were both young. We met the group as a whole a few times - a highlight was going to the studio to watch them recording. Unbelievable attention to detail! And we went to a lot of concerts as VIPs, which was always exciting.

John Deacon gave us this after Queen’s 1975 Japanese tour
It's not the same kimono he wore in the famous photoshoot but it's very similar, so it's possible he bought this as a gift to his sister. Richard apologies because it's a bit deteriorated.
"We had a ton of Queen memorabilia over the years and most of it has gone to family and friends! I realised a couple of years ago that I needed to keep things for my family to have. Looking back, I wish I’d got autographs etc when we met the band and went to parties etc…"
Also he's lately sharing a couple of Queen cuttings from newspapers, which aren't really new content but come from a very sweet collection: "After John’s Mum (Mollie) died, we offered to sort out her house - John was finding her death very emotional. We found a collection of these cuttings stashed away. Although she didn’t talk much about Queen, we knew she was very proud of John…"
This is truly melting my heart and I'll add notable things to this post if he's willing to share any more on Reddit.
