Simon has never been one to enjoy being the centre of attention. Doesnât mean heâs ever been able to escape the stares and whispers, especially as the lieutenant towering over almost everyone with a skull mask on his face more often than not, and vile rumours following him with every step. Still, it makes him irritated, barely containing his rage whenever he notices someone shamelessly gawking.
So when he meets Johnny, whose gaze fell on him one day and has refused to move anywhere else ever since, heâs confused as to why he doesnât mind it all of the sudden.
It makes him angry actually.
He should hate Soap, absolutely despise him, dumb Soap with his stupid mohawk and even stupider accent who has serious staring issues and yet.
He doesnât.
And itâd be an understatement if he said he was confused. Because Ghost isnât sure what makes Johnny so different and still, his rotten heart starts beating like crazy whenever he feels Soapâs attention on him.
Or when Johnny remembers little details that no one even noticed, let alone somehow stored in their brain long enough to bring up months later.
Soap can make his tea perfectly although he never even drinks tea himself. He knows what gun oil Ghost prefers and somehow makes sure he always has it. Hell, he bought Ghost a custom knife and a fancy bottle of Kentucky bourbon for his birthday despite only knowing the month of Simonâs birthday.
So perhaps itâs unfair to say Simon hates being the centre of attention.
Because when the attention is Johnnyâs, be it in the mess hall when their team is sharing breakfast or when heâs moaning into Simonâs mouth in their sweaty sheets, he might actually like it.
