Httyd screenshot you didnt know you needed pt2
Я очень люблю огнеедов :3
I don't wanna @ anyone because I understand how fast things seem to move in today's landscape of streaming shows dropping entire seasons in one day, and networks pumping out new series constantly to try to attract more subscribers with no intent to actually maintain those shows over time but I just saw someone self-deprecatingly lament that they are still thinking about a show that ended almost a year ago, making fan art and playlists for it, and I want to be very clear:
you can still create fanworks when it comes to old media!! PLEASE do!! there are always going to be new fans who will appreciate it, and veteran fans who are dying for new content and new perspectives. also, less than a year is NOTHING. the original Star Trek series was on TV six decades ago and there are still people losing their minds over it, writing stories and reblogging gifsets daily, and that's only one example.
a fandom lasts as long as there are people who love a thing, even if it's only a handful of people. love what you love and write and draw and make gifs and playlists about it!
raise your hand if you still have brainrot about a show that isn't airing
#art doesn't have a best by date YEAH @wreative-criting!

Things people hate hearing:
You are capable of harm
You have some level of power and agency
Ergo it is your responsibility to communicate your needs and boundaries
If you lie to someone about something being okay when it isn't, that is on you
Something being a trauma response doesn't exempt it from harming your relationships and the other people in them
Enabling your trauma responses will not make them go away, and it is your responsibility to work on yourself for your own wellbeing as well as the people around you
Being A Victim cannot be a pillar of your identity forever, and being victimized does not make you incapable of harming other people (see above)
You are not a mouse in a jean jacket you are an eel with a gun / adult human being who can use your words even if it's Scary
Having a personality disorder doesn't make you evil but you have got to get off of Personality Disorder Tumblr (see above, re: enabling)
Deep sigh. You want me to ~be compassionate~ here's the compassionate answer: your trauma will tell you you're a helpless child forever and you need to Not Think This Way for yourself (living under the assumption you're still in danger whether you actually are or not) and everyone else who has to tiptoe around your Sensitivity. That's how you break the cycle and you can only do this by accepting responsibility for your actions. And it seems like a small semantic thing but imo step one is calling yourself a survivor instead of a victim. Self identifying with your victimhood helps No One. You lived, now get up
I'm gonna be so honest rn.
I hate femboys.
And scrawny men who are always portrayed as feminine and in need of others.
Yes. I am talking about Hiccup Haddock the 3rd.
I genuinely cannot fucking STAND fanart of Hiccup where he's portrayed as some meek, innocent, and pure little boy. Like yeah, he's scrawny and was never usually one for violence, but that doesn't mean he's weak or in need of others' help 24/7.
The amount of drawings I see of him where he's that femboy stereotype is insane. I loose braincells at the sight of them. Also, I genuinely do feel like, sick when I see them, my stomach starts doing flips and tricks.
I love Hiccup as much as the next httyd fan, but HOLY FLYING FUCK. There is SO MUCH more to this character other than "Scrawny uwu femboy who needs his big alpha protector all the time :3" Like, Hiccup is genuinely talented and can handle himself when it comes to combat, he's not a damn baby omg-
That's another thing, he's so fucking infantilized in half of the fanart I see of him, it irks me.
And listen, I don't care if someone else is or likes femboys (Is there another term for this fuckass word!?), but the way they're mostly portrayed in media disgusts me. Maybe it's because I'm a trans man and have been called a femboy in the past
Speaking of- I also hate being called a femboy. The idea of someone still seeing me as feminine, even though I try my best to pass as a guy, makes me sick. And most of the time, its my irl friends calling me this. I've told them to stop, that I wasn't comfortable being called that, yet they continue. (I need to stop associating myself with them.)
Uhhhhhhh
Yeah, that's it. I hate when Hiccup's portrayed as a femboy, I hate being called a femboy, I HATE FEMBOYS.
That's it.
the people who have the femboy hiccup jokes are the same people who need him pregnant constantly so it is not a surprise that they overlap.
(The same people who have the trans hiccup headcanon too.)
I see Mr Wilford from Snowpiercer as transgender because he’s the last person you expect to be trans because he’s a somewhat pudgy man in his sixties portrayed by Sean Bean.
They see Hiccup as trans because they want him to be a broodmare. Which as someone who is sapphic. I’m far too lesbian adjacent for this shit, jfc. Pregnancy just drives me up the wall. What’s the point with the “ooooughugh babies!!” that some cis people have an obsession with.
pain, agony even
I am actually so serious I think it really messes with a childs creativity and joy to tell them to never make a mary sue OC. Like that unbridaled form of joy where you make a self insert OC who super cool and everyone loves them and they have every superpower in the world SHOULD be something a kid makes, it nourishes their ability to create things for fun and not be stifled by "oh but what if my character is too overpowered and cringey...". whatever
You know what?
I'm gonna add to this.
It stifles adult's creativity too.
Don't put restrictions on people's creativity.
That Mary-Sue OC you made as a child? That's a template for a well rounded character. Develop that shit. Flesh them out. Make them even better. Figure out what superpowers they really need and what ones are just extra. Let the character grow with you.
But you won't have that template to work off of if you were told not to make it.
Also, let people have power fantasies. Let that bullied isolated kid have an OC who's super powerful and surrounded by friends.
Let people tell stories, for fuck's sake.

You've gotta love Jews more than you hate Nazis.
You've gotta love trans folks more than you hate TERFs.
You've gotta love your unhoused neighbors more than you hate the billionaires.
You've gotta love immigrants more than you hate ICE.
You've gotta love queer kids more than you hate christian fundamentalists.
You've gotta love fat people more than you hate the diet industry.
You've gotta love disabled people more than you hate the insurance companies.
You've gotta love your fellow humans more than you hate the worst that humanity has to offer. You don't have to like every person you're fighting for, and you sure as hell don't have to give up your righteous anger, but hate is ultimately corrosive.
You've gotta love.
Ohh, so I was looking at my storage and found these! I originally shared them on twitter before yeeting the platform. Anyway, feel free to use! Art memes for your oc :D
My roommates and I have recently started this thing where we stat each other like D&D adventures.
The council has decided I have a 17 in dex.
I also think this would be perfect tumblr discourse. People stating their favorite characters and arguing about it viciously.
Alright. I ain’t called controversial skrill for nothing’.

So was thinking ‘damn I love rtte, but I wish there were more people of color. This person’s Inuit OC is so cool.’
So what if the berserkers were Inuit or basic-unspecified-indigenous-northern-folk, cause I have done ZERO research on this. I think it adds more representation, (given this is a kids show and representation, even if it isn’t all that realistic, is extremely important at a formative age) and it adds more flavor to the world.
And then BAM, it hit me, maybe I would hate Heather less if she looked less basic!
Here is the brief sketch. I think I got a lot more character into her design than “her hair is black cause she’s sad :(”
Cleaned it up and did some cursory research
