anyone know that reddit post about a girl whoâs gf washes her hair and it talks about non sexual intimacy
My heart..
This reminds me of this post;
Forgive me guys as I do not remember where the screenshot is from, but I have it here and I wanted to share with you.
I have had guy friends cry because I enthusiastically asked to do their hair in plaits. I have shave my head out of hair frustration a lot but I loved braiding my own hair. like, crown braid casually during a test instead of a ponytail when I needed my hair off my face type speed braiding. and I have a lot of guy friends with that long flowy Viking hair. gal friends love me doing their hair, paid me to do it for prom and shit, so I started asking my male friends to plait their hair like a viking. I stg, some have cried. some freeze like a internet explorer tab.
and this is a thing we just DID at sleepovers to each other as girls! I am used to this level of âlet me get uncomfortably close and bond with youâ monkey type grooming. it breaks my heart when I compliment a man or offer a sincere âthatâs fucked bruhâ bear hug and they hesitate or seem to look for a trick. y'all be touch starved and get shit when you try and seek it from anyone in a non sexual context, how is this not a set up for unhealthy thoughts about self worth?
How many times do I have to say this, the first postâs OP is a GUY. Stop erasing menâs experiences with intimacy.
ALSO HE MADE ANOTHER POST ABOUT MAKING HIS GF PANCAKES!!!!
transcript:
My girlfriend had a really long week and was tired. I know she likes pancakes and chocolate so I wanted to surprise her with chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast in bed on her day off. I snuck out of bed early and I followed the directions on the box exactly, but i was worried the batter was going to be too thick with the chocolate chips so I added a bit more milk. Then it was too runny so I had to add more flour, then it was way too thick. So I didnt want to water it down anymore and said fuck it, but then they werent cooking properly. I also tried to make a heart with the chocolate chips but between the thickness of the batter and geberal spatula fuckery they came out more like scrambled pan muffin egg cakes and there was no heart.
You guys, her face just lit up and she was so happy with my pancake mess. She kept putting her fork down to kiss me and the way she looked at me⌠like its weird to type but I really feel like im something, or like im SOMEBODY you know. It was that same feeling where, I guess I felt really proud of myself for doing something like that, I mean I was pretty shy cause they werenât nice pancakes but she said I made her happyâŚ.
Iâm sorry for posting this here again. I just really dont have an outlet where i can talk about romantic stuff like this, people around me arent about that kind of thing but really, being with her and doing these nice gentle thingsâŚ
I love her. It just feels good.
Reblogging for the extra addition that op was a man experiencing intimacy and genuinely being emotional & shocked by it, since every time I added that it got ignored đ
[Image Descriptions.
The first image is of a post on the subreddit off my chest by user expensive till 9. The title reads, My girlfriend washed my hair today. The post reads, It felt so good. We donât normally shower together but today we did. Nothing sexual happened or anything but I just feel so on cloud nine right now. When I reached for the shampoo she said wait and grabbed it herself and started running it through my hair lathering it over my scalp and massaging my head. I swear it felt so good I just shut my eyes and felt like I was floating. Then she took the soap and started sudsing me up and used her body to spread it all over me and rinsed me clean using her hands to splash me and running her fingers through my hair and spending like a good five minutes just rinsing my hair and kissing my back and chest. It was almost surreal. I feel so incredibly loved right now I almost got overwhelmed and started crying from being so happy while she was doing it. Iâve never had a girlfriend be so gentle and make me feel like this. Iâve always been with people who were very cold and Iâm not used to this feeling and Iâve got no one I can really express things like this too which when I think of it is really pretty screwed up. I love her so much.
The second image is of a text post it reads, On his first birthday that we were together I surprised my boyfriend with dinner reservations and a room at a quaint B and B near the posh area of our city. I called the place in advance to make sure that they gave us a suite with a large tub, thinking it would be romantic to bathe together for the first time and pop some bubbly in a bubble bath to celebrate his day. After dinner I filled the tub, chilled the champagne and asked him if he would get in first and let me suds him up and wash his hair. Rather abruptly he became uncharacteristically hesitant and shy and after much persuasion he eventually obliged but I felt poorly because I thought he would be more enthusiastic about my idea. First I scrubbed him carefully from shoulder to feet with soap and a sponge he was totally mute and my heart sank but I was determined to finish the night on a high note and took my time stopping to squeeze him gently or massage his muscles. Then as he leaned back against my lap while I washed his face I noticed tears streaming down his face he was silently weeping. Weeping. This is a stoic man I let him cry and finished his hair and as I handed him something to drink he confided in me that no one had ever washed his hair or made such tender gestures towards him that werenât explicitly sexual. My boyfriend is not a young man Iâm profoundly happy to be in his life to provide love and affection but it pains me deeply to think about the decades he spent doing without.
The third image is of a screenshot from Brooklyn nine nine, the character looks lost in thought and the caption below him reads, Preparing food for oneâs lover is the most intimate gift of all. Aside from washing their hair.
The fourth image is transcribed below the image.
The fifth image is a screenshot of some tags from this post and they read, letâs stop erasing that men need intimacy and care and tenderness too and keep awareness that itâs still a problem directly tied to misogynies and toxic masculinity.

Yesterday â April 7, 2022 â, Alabama passed a bill making gender-affirming health care a felony for people up to age 19. This means that trans youth who seek gender-affirming medical care, their supportive parents, and their doctors all may face criminal charges for the care that is supported by every major medical organization in the U.S.
This is the third state to pass this felony ban on trans care.
On the same day, Alabama passed another bill banning trans youth from gendered public spaces (like bathrooms), and a third bill banning any discussion of LGBTQ+ topics in schools.
Half of all U.S states are moving these exact same bills through their legislatures at lightning speeds, including my home state where I transitioned as a minor.
I have only seen outrage about Floridaâs âDonât Say Gayâ bill (which affects trans people, too, by the way). Please also keep track of what is happening to trans people at the state level in the U.S. We are being banned from public life and life-saving medical care. These are children. Lives depend on us challenging these bills.
does anyone know the other states who have passed this bill?
Arizona, Arkansas, and Alabama.
Texas is an honorable mention because, although banning trans medical care is not a state law, the governor has directed the families, doctors, and teachers of trans minors to report them to the state on counts of child abuse and separate them from their families.
States that have banned trans children from playing school sports are: MT, ID, SD, IA, WV, UT, AZ, TX, OK, AR, TN, MS, AL, and FL.
States that have banned any mention of LGBTQ+ topics in public schools are: MT, AZ, OK, TX, LA, MS, AR, TN, AL, and FL.
These have all happened in the last year with little to no media coverage or cis outrage. The states with Republican-dominated legislatures that havenât yet passed all three of these bills will continue to propose them every single legislative session until they pass.
Please, please pay attention.

we as a collective society failed skydoesminecraft for allowing squids to win over butter cows. an atrocity of this magnitude can never happen again. itâs time to make amends, get revenge, pave the way for the future. #dreamneg

things Iâve experienced working at the smp museum
Tommy innit (the kid who was exiled) put himself through recreations of traumatic experiences in some twisted version of exposure therapy
someone asked what the camarvan was and i had to explain that it was the catalyst for the creation of lâmanburg and also a drug van
some kids tried to recreate the final control room betrayal for a school project but the kid playing eret (the traitor in the lmanburg war for independence and also my boss) stood on top of the chest for the infamous line and fucking fell off and broke their nose
someone tried to steal the camarvan
some kid doing a project on heredity said they had to pick one famous figure and for some goddamn reason they picked Wilbur soot so i had to explain the bastards fucked up family tree and i have never seen someone so confused (kid if youâre out there good luck on your project)
someone who knew Far too much about soot came and demanded we add an exhibit dedicated to his sand-eating habits
someone tried to defend dream and i just left bc what the Fuck
one day my boss said they were going to some cult banquet (i donât handle the egg shit thatâs my coworkers domain) and i got to spin in their office chair
heard later the cult banquet ended with multiple murders. not surprised.
got an assignment to hang up a âhistorically significant paintingâ but it was just a picture of first gentleman ranboo my beloved in a locket with his name??? but yknow his husband has nukes so Iâm not gonna protest
some kid called the front desk at like midnight and asked if being straight was ok. first of all why the fuck are you calling a history museum second of all i was really confused and panicked and said âwhatâs a straightâ and hung up so uh sorry kidďżź
had to witness 3 kids try to recreate the lmanburg independence war in the form of interpretive dance. im all for creative schooling but what the fuck
other historically accurate paintings include a closeup of kanye west, multiple images of master oogway and some pictures making fun of george's colourblindness
you know how some parents do that toxic thing where they donât notice or reward kids for improving their behavior, but every screw-up gets remarked upon and used to inflict shame? so youâre stuck in that awful cycle where there are no rewards, only the inevitability of eventual punishment?
and how that makes it extremely hard to judge your own actions or grow into a better person, because thereâs no one to confirm that you actually are doing better, and are capable of improving, and are not doomed to forever be a terrible person incapable of growth?
ok so: I donât know how to explain to you that weâve built a social media culture that treats people the same way. with the same abusive cycle.
That sounds like cancel culture
I donât know what to call it anymore. people get heated about terms like âpurityâ or âcancelâ or âcall outâ culture, or canât seem to agree on a meaning. Iâm not talking about like. no longer supporting rich and powerful celebrities when their abusive actions come to light. Iâm not talking about holding people accountable, or warning people about active abusers. but I am seriously concerned about how we treat social media users once they get even a small amount of attention, even in small niche spaces.
I am concerned about this culture of combing through years of peopleâs social media accounts, looking for âproblematicâ shit theyâve done. I am concerned with the whole culture of using âcall outsâ as a tool to harass and ostracize users large and small. I am concerned about the malice we spread behind peopleâs backs, in screenshots and posts they arenât able to see. I am concerned with this culture of demanding apologies for things said years ago, things already outgrown and regretted, and of ignoring those apologies even while pilling on more censure. Iâm concerned about this whole culture of accusation and misinformation, where the most outrageous claims and holier-than-thou performances are rewarded with notes and views, even as facts are ignored and context removed. I am concerned about the lack of accountability, the way the accused is given no opportunity to defend themselves from the onslaught, the way their responses and explanations go ignored, the way any charge can be made at any time on any evidence, with no ability to appeal or exonerate. Iâm concerned about the way this culture targets minority users and turns their own communities against them. Iâm concerned about the actually harmful and predatory behavior that is lost in the bog, and how we have lost the ability to distinguish between shades of gray with any level of sanity. And I am concerned by the sheer number of people who fail to realize they are perpetuating bullying and harassment.
I am enormously concerned with the way people who are âcalled outâ are never forgiven, never allowed to make amends, never allowed to grow, how their efforts to learn and do better are ignored even while strangers callously repeat and reblog and retweet the same criticisms ad nauseam.
And I see this everywhere, happening to anyone. And yes, this applies to larger accounts and youtubers and âinfluencers,â and a bunch of content creators who may or may not be making a decent living off of their work, but who are certainly not ârich and powerful celebrities.â (Because apparently we spend so much time in online microcosms that yaâll canât tell the difference???) Christ, my blog isnât nearly as large as some people seem to think, itâs obscure by most measures, and still Iâve been the target of mass harassment for years. Iâve seen bad and watched others go through worse, seen users with far larger and far smaller followings driven off of this and other platformsâdriven off with a violence and bloodthirst that had nothing to do with making a community safer and everything to do with a toxic culture gone wrong. Fucking fix this already.
Abuse is still abuse when it happens online, when done by strangers, when done anonymously, when done en masse. Now do BETTER.
