In a world where social activism supposedly prevails through the means of social media, it is actually used backwardly. The process of forming your own opinions is becoming gradually slower. Opinions are becoming washed-out, repetitive, and overdramatized. It’s safe to say that social media activism is becoming hyperbolic in nature. It is true that when people say all artists steal,they really steal. Ideas are produced to the masses, and sold with a of lack authenticity. Words are gobbled up, digested, and secreted in the same monotonous glob that came from its “creator”. “Dragging” is now an infamous tool people use to display their faked “prestige”. With activism comes both affirming and dissenting opinions. Activism isn’t activism if there isn’t any discourse to accompany it. With activism comes educating people in the wrong. With dragging comes publicly humiliating the person in the wrong. It’s imperative for people to differentiate between ignorance and an eagerness to improve.
