Maybe someone already pointed this out but do you ever think about how subtly Will played people? Like, I'm specifically thinking about with their titles. Frederick wanted so badly to be revered and respected as an amazing and intelligent psychiatrist, but Will refused to call him Dr. Chilton (at least in the second season onwards), only Frederick. The opposite is true for Hannibal. Hannibal was desperate to be close and personal and friendly with Will, but Will almost exclusively calls him Dr. Lecter while almost everyone else calls him Hannibal. Will is so subtle in his manipulations by refusing to respect Frederick and befriend Hannibal.
