ONE AND ONLY.

          of  all  people ,  constance  hadn’t  expected  to  see  charlie  standing  there .  the  last  time  she  saw  him  she  had  LESS  than  choice  words  to  say  to  him , so  she  bites  her  tongue  instead  of  saying  the  words  that  would  prefer  to  go  spilling  from  her  lips .  ‘  well ,  i  have  a  habit  of  getting  what  i  WANT  sometimes ,  i  can’t  really  help  it .  ’  her  shoulders  shrug  nonchalantly  as  she  speaks ,  tucking  her  phone  down  into  the  purse  on  her  arm .  ‘  and  i  was  being  serious ,  absolutely .  i’m  not  going  to  spend  nearly  two  hundred  thousand  on  a  purse  just  for  it  to  show  up  like  its  been  used .  ’ 

          the  eye  roll  that  constance  experiences  is  enough  to  show  the  whites  of  her  eyes  and  enough  to  make  her  think  they  might  fall  OUT  of  her  head .  the  blonde  before  her  was  someone  she  would  prefer  to  not  interact  with ,  but  she  makes  sure  to  hide  the  expression  she  wants  to  show  behind  a  perfectly  crafted  facade .  ‘  and  why  do  you  take  SUCH  issue  with  that  ?  ’  constance  tilts  her  head  slightly  as  she  speaks ,  rolling  her  shoulders  a  bit  to  fix  her  posture .  the  two  were  not  friends  and  they  probably  never  will  be ,  which  constance  is  completely  fine  with .  ‘  if  calling  my  dad  gets  me  what  i  want ,  then  why  would  i  want  to  do  anything  different  ?  ’    

          ‘  sometimes  it’s  hard  to  accept  how  cute  i  am  ...  who  ELSE  do  you  know  with  an  ass  like  mine  ?  ’

          ‘  but  daddy ,  ’  constance  whines  into  the  gold - backed  device  pressed  to  her  ear .  ‘  you  know  how  badly  i’ve  been  wanting  this  handbag  and  as  SOON  as  i  get  my  hands  on  it ,  it  arrived  scuffed  !   ’  she’s  visibly  pouting  as  she  speaks ,  and  henryk  lindenbaum  is  trying  his  best  to  appease  his  daughter  from  wherever  he  is  on  the  other  end  of  the  phone  call .  the  quad  is  probably  the  wrong  place  to  have  a  total  meltdown  over  a  birkin ,  but  constance  believes  she  has  enough  of  a  reason  to .  just  before  she  can  raise  a  gucci  sneaker  covered  foot  to  stomp  against  the  concrete ,  the  brunette  spots  someone  familiar  and  decides  to  hit  pause  on  her  TANTRUM .  she  hangs  up  the  phone  before  she  speaks .  ‘  how  much  of  that  did  you  hear  ?  ’    

          ‘  why  are  you  giving  me  flowers ,  luca  ?  ’  constance’s  head  tilts  slightly  as  she  tilts  her  head  and  adjusts  the  valentino  tote  on  her  shoulder .  she’s  never  one  to  turn  down  such  a  NICE  gesture ,  so  she  accepts  the  pretty  red  flowers  without  making  a  fuss .  ‘  lucky  for  you ,  i’m  on  my  way  back  to  my  apartment  and  i  think  i  have  the  perfect  vase  for  them .  so ,  thank  you .  ’
