One of my friends showed me this amazing charity foundation on facebook. It is called Operation Underground railroad. They help rescue kidnapped children that were forced into sex slavery and give them a better life. Issues like this are very important to me. I’m going to make a challenge out of this everytime this gets reblogged I will donate a dollar. (I know thats not a lot but I’m a financially struggling college student.) LIKES DON’T COUNT. The ending date for reblogging will be Janurary 5th, 2015. On that day I will post a picture if the donation process and receipt. This is coming straight from my pocket. No tricks. Some people want you to believe that a pregnancy will ruin your life, but I don’t believe that. Pregnancies don’t ruin lives, they create them. 

I haven’t seen a set like this yet, but I just wanted to give a special shout to the ladies who want to be mothers, but can’t have children. Mother’s Day is probably not the easiest day for them. So, let’s take a moment to think of those ladies out there who in their hearts are mothers, but just weren’t given the chance to be. You are mothers in my eyes, and you deserve the world. Happy Mother’s Day.

On this day in 1979, Margaret Thatcher became the first female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. She is known for her conservative policies which are now commonly referred to as ‘Thatcherism’.  Her Conservative party’s victory in the 1979 general election came twenty years after she was first elected to Parliament to represent Finchley. Upon becoming Prime Minister, Thatcher had to deal with high employment and financial problems that crippled the country, to which her government responded with deregulation, privatisation and reducing the power of trade unions. She also led Britain during the Falklands War with Argentina in 1982, which propelled her to re-election in 1983. Thatcher’s popularity waned and she was eventually challenged for the Conservative leadership by others in her party and thus resigned as Prime Minister in 1990. Known as ‘the Iron Lady’, Thatcher was the longest-serving British Prime Minister of the 20th Century. She died from a stroke in 2013 and remains a very controversial and divisive figure in British history.
