Why I am Closing This Account:
I was broached with the request to approve the renewed Terms and Policy. I choose to decline, and will archive and purge my acount accordingly. Here's why:
"I do not agree with your assessment of "Malicious Speech": "Malicious Speech. Don't encourage violence or hatred on the basis of things like race, ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, or sexual orientation. We encourage you to dismantle negative speech through argument rather than censorship. We will, however, remove anything that is overtly malicious." as I believe it is biased, in that the removal of blogs and/or content is arbitrary and is not subjected to an objective overview by Tumblr Staff. I believe wholeheartedly that Tumblr Staff operates under the policy "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" and I believe that Tumblr staff should not be involved in censorship of ANY kind if it wishes independently minded individuals to utilize its services.
Additionally, your policy against "squatting URLs" is misleading and patently false. I requested that my URL be restored after discovering it was being squatted, and was told that URLs cannot be restored once the user has been banned, and that banning the user was Tumblr Staff's ONLY way to remove the URL from that user's possession.
Due to these measures, I have decided that I no longer want to participate in Tumblr's community and I ask that my blog be archived and, once I have received confirmation of and access to the archival, closed. Thank you for your time."
