importunity.

                                                                                                                     there’s something the lion cub of cintra couldn’t help as she listened to the woman before her               ,               eyes line with tears which blurr her vision               ,               lips trembling as she tries to keep it all in               .               but she’s breaking at the seams               .               it seems like years since she’s last shed a tear               ,               since she was still yet a child               .                ❝               yen               ..               ❞               it’s all that can come from lips with a waver in her voice               ,               going to wrap arms around the sorceress               ,               face pressed into her shoulder               .               emotions are derailed for the ashen haired woman               ,               no longer on a track to be controlled               .               she’s been watched               ,               raised and taken care of by yennefer               ,               an important role in her development to become the very person she is now               .                ❝               you   talk   as   if   this   is   the   last   time   we’ll   see   each   other               .               i   promise   we’ll   see   one   another   again               .               i   promise               ..               ❞

such was the other’s own emotion that nearly brings her to her knees in her own sorrows. yes, sorrow for they would have to part soon. it was always hard enough to let the young lioness go, for she was a mother that simply wanted to protect her only child. she knows very well that her dearest familiar can fight her way out of any situation, though she prays that will not be the case. may all of the wrath be given ten times over towards those who tango with this young cub, she thought. 

“ ciri, please --- you will make us both be a bumbling mess, i’d think it best for just you to be the mess here. dark eyeliner can become a rather terrible mess easily. ” trying to lighten the mood, her hand comes to the others own ashen hair, fixing at it just as she always had. “ my, how you’ve grown .. ” words she seemed to always say again and again, she could not believe it. how much older can ciri get ? if only she could turn back time. 

just a reminder that if you ever feel kind of lost in your community whether it be with the witcher or any other community out there, you are not alone. do what makes you happy and nothing else. if you aren’t having fun, it’s not your obligation to stay with a character you don’t want to play. it’s not your obligation to do anything but make yourself happy. also: know that you are very loved. 

𝐎𝐅  𝐀𝐋𝐋  𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒  𝐂𝐈𝐑𝐈  𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃  𝐓𝐎  𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑 ,  𝑻𝑯𝑨𝑻'𝑺  𝑪𝑬𝑹𝑻𝑨𝑰𝑵𝑳𝒀  𝑵𝑶𝑻  𝑨𝑻  𝑻𝑯𝑬  𝑻𝑶𝑷  𝑶𝑭  𝑯𝑬𝑹  𝑳𝑰𝑺𝑻.     emerald eyes bug out of their sockets when she, very plainly and without much preamble, tells her about the unicorn.  she just wanted to know how they met—how they fell in love, how they continue to be in love, and why aren’t they together even so ?—but instead, she’s given a visual she never, ever wanted to see in the first place.         “   i’ll remember this, mummy,   ”       ashen brows are furrowed and the frown on her face seems to make her whole countenance drop.   she crosses her arms over her chest to sulk for, oh, about thirty seconds before that frown turns absolutely wicked.       “   so you are still in love !   ”      one doesn’t make love without being in love, right ?   making love without the love is—what’s the word uncle lambert used ?   oh, right.  fucking.   it’s fucking.       “   you love geralt and he loves you !   ” the sorceress’ wished-for child and the witcher’s child surprise leans over towards yennefer; she promised revenge and she’s merely paying the debt.  pink lips pucker and begin to make what should resemble kissing noises.   maybe months ago she would fear to do this, or even less wanting to be in the same room with the raven-haired witch, but now she feels safe and happy and loved enough to be silly.   𝒊  𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒉  𝒕𝒐  𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔  𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆  𝒉𝒆𝒓  𝒍𝒂𝒖𝒈𝒉 !    is her sacred promise.  her mummy is awfully beautiful when she laughs.       “   oh geralt !    you’re big and strong and—,   ”       ciri can’t finish.  she’s overrun with giggles.       “   i hope i can stay with you—with you both—forever.  i hope i can always make you laugh and i hope i can always make him laugh, which looks like this,   ”       her countenance furrows back into a frown, but it’s overexaggerated with the lift of a single corner of her mouth.   then she’s falling on the floor laughing at her own wit.   

perhaps any other child would find the words to be grotesque and maybe for a second the young lioness did, but she springs to life once more. always a surprise. the violet eyed sorceress cannot help to be struck with her own sense of feeling guilty now. oh no, now geralt is sure to have a discussion with her. 

“ ciri, i need you to calm down now --- come, come sit. ” 

she brought this on herself. she should have known. this was not a regular child, no of course not. this child was her own. yes, it’s true they were not with the same bloodline, but yennefer had never felt so close to her. nothing could phase her, perhaps ciri had picked up ways of her own immunities to life’s words.

and  that  is  an  attitude  that’s  deserving  of  its  own  tune.  elsie  can  be  empathetic  when  it  comes  to  a  life  teeming  with  PAIN  –  but  she  disagrees  heartily  with  the  rest  of  the  sentiment.     ❝  there’s  nothing  in  this  world  a  song  cannot  at  least  begin  to  put  to  rights  ,  and  i  don’t  only  know  sweet  melodies.  i  can  play  you  something  sad  if  you  prefer  to  WALLOW.  ❞

“ i know you come from a good place but i wish you never know the hardships i’ve faced. ” nonetheless, a warm smile forms on her lips with looking at the young lioness. a hand coming to rest on the girl’s cheek. “ we’ve all done many things we are not proud of, but i’ve never been not proud of you. even with your stubborn antics --- you gave me a life worth living for, ciri. you, geralt .. ”

“ life is unkind to us sometimes, but we have to fight on. fight forward. be strong in our own nature. you are strong .. after all, you are my daughter, are you not ? ” a smile to form on lips, always claiming this child as her own. the only child who could withstand the flames presented. the only child who never would give up on the road ahead.
