We talked about the Iliad in one of my classes today and all I've been thinking about since then is Obikin AU but make it Achilles & Patroclus coded...
Anakin is the son of the Force he's basically a demigod already but also apart from that he's just so Achilles to me?? This might be obvious to everyone else but I only just realised this lmao
But just. Anakin is flawed in such similar ways to Achilles - he's stubborn, lashes out when he doesn't get his way, etc etc
Meanwhile Obi-Wan is what grounds him, he's the voice of reason to Anakin's chaos, while also being a strong and capable warrior in his own right - like Patroclus is to Achilles.
Also I can absolutely see Anakin being so filled with rage if Obi-Wan ever died (or got seriously injured if we're feeling nice) that the Force itself would have to intervene, like the Gods have to step in when Achilles goes on his little rampage.
I don't think the whole borrowed armour thing works tho, unless its still Iliad setting. To still keep like a little hint of that maybe Obi-Wan could die (OR GET INJURED) while fighting with Anakin's lightsaber? Maybe his own got damaged, Anakin is refusing to fight for [insert plot reason] so Obi-Wan takes his saber and off he goes
