It’s official!
This fall I will be working as a Community HealthCorps member for the San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium (SFCCC). I will be one of 25 college graduates across the country who will be serving San Francisco’s underserved populations for an entire year.
I had received the call a few days ago and just recently accepted the offer. I feel extremely grateful and blessed for this amazing opportunity. Joining AmeriCorps after graduation was always something I’ve wanted to do. This year the competition for SFCCC was so stiff, as over 350 people applied for only 25 positions.
I’m so happy I didn’t drop my application and seek other gap year opportunities. I’m so happy I now have the chance to pursue my passion for community health and meet some awesome like-minded people.
Bay Area, I’m so ready to come back for you. I cannot wait to #serveayear!
Now, where does this leave this blog?
To be honest, I’ve debated for days on whether I should close or keep this. I don’t even know what this blog is anymore, and quite frankly, I have no personal connection to it. It’s a very small remnant of my high school and college years, and I feel like it’s time to move on. This will be my last post here.
I’ve created a new blog, mrcommhealth, where I will be blogging about my entire AmeriCorps experience in addition to some pre-med and miscellaneous stuff. Follow me if you’re interested. If not, peace! ✌️
Over and out, Justin
