if I ever finish this Sam and Elias write I have in drafts I need you to know in advance I’m giggling way too much for it. Sam is a crying mess and that makes my heart hurt but I keep laughing about how utterly panicked Elias is about all of this. Guy who has very clearly not raised a child before and hasn’t had much experience with them yet. I think I’ve had to cut out him having mini internal meltdowns about pretty much everything he does or everything Sam does

Elias had always hated being sick. His immune system, luckily, was rather good at its job, so he was never sick that often unless he did something to really upset his body. Like, for example, walk for a good while in one of the worst storms he’s seen in a while.

Whatever. go my 5.5k words of pure fluff and oc madness . this doodle finally gets its sequel after a yesr

writing the family is fun because it’s half fluff and fun and the other half saying Sam’s name in either pointed or exhausted manners

gripped with the sudden pressing need to write down a scene from birdsong finally so I guess . sure this random scene can be my start to a first draft

okay I’ve accepted I’m probably not finishing this today bc it’s 6am but I figured I’d share this snippet of the Elias sixkfix I’m finally returning to. enjoy the dialogue that made me ask myself if Sam would technically be considered an alien

“I was going to say he probably doesn’t know you’ve even arrived, but knowing him there’s a fifty fifty chance he’s somehow found out. I can go grab him if you want?”

“No, no, it’s fine. I don’t want to get him sick.” Elias shook his head, dreading the idea.

For a moment, Bryant looked sheepish. “Actually, I don’t know if Sam even can get sick?”

It took a few moments for Elias’ tired brain to catch up to that one. “...Has he not gotten sick once in the past six years?” Bryant shook his head, and Elias could only stare shocked. “I suppose that... makes sense? I mean, he’s not exactly a human.”

“Yeah, I had the same reaction when I realised a bit back I’d never seen him get any sort of sickness.” Bryant said, pulling the desk chair next to the bed in order to sit down. “For a while I just kinda assumed he could also get sick, given how he’s able to cry and eat and all, but he’s never even gotten a headache or anything.”

“Not even a headache?” Again, Bryant shook his head. Elias hummed, “Maybe it just works differently in the world he’s from, or he gets different kinds of sickness, but I must admit I was working under the same assumption.”

Bryant nodded this time, before moving to the food he’d placed on the dresser. “Well, Sam’s quirks aside, I’ve brought you some food and water. I know it can be a bit hard to eat things when you’re sick, but at the very least you have to drink the water.”

#how does Sam work? nobody knows. least of all Sam. he just does #this is technically set after birdsong but I realise I have forgotten to mention zip here so uhhhhhhh just don’t think about that #pointless chirping #elias palm #bryant willis #sam bell #he counts he’ll show up eventually

thinking a lot about my characters to the point where I’m tempted to write book first draft stuff actually but also thinking a lot about my characters in the shitpost sense

#pointless chirping #I am once again sobbing and giggling about Morgan and Gabriel’s insane codependency #on one hand (REDACTED FOR PLOT)#on the other hand . you try to bring them to different rooms to seperate them for a bit and Morgan just floats through the walls #or Gabriel scratches you and then goes to the Morgan room #literally do not separate unless it’s on THEIR terms. they both bite #also I’m thinking about Sam and crying again

Associating an oc mainly to a shitpost song is so embarrassing like yes, one of my top songs to assign Sam is Kitchen Without Gun (Extended Mix) (and the ad it’s based on). you have just GOTTA trust me about it I swear

absolutely do not feel like writing it rn but please know that Sam at one point absolutely tried his best to convince Gabriel to include him on a ghost hunt and Gabriel had to do his damn best to talk him down. it only barely worked bc of an assist from Bryant and Elias

#That assist wasn’t even intentional at first . for Elias at least #”would it make you feel better if i accompanied you and Sam as w-“ “NO”#(due to ghost rules. Elias is firmly banned (by Gabriel’s request) from ever stepping into an investigation area)#Bryant wouldn’t go because he’s definitely not scared of ghosts #and Gabriel wouldn’t let Sam come with him anyway because “this is for PROFESSIONALS because if you don’t then you could DIE”#he could probably tag along to a docile ghost visit but Gabriel wouldn’t let him anyway. no risks #Gabriel takes it verrry seriously #all of this may not stop me from drawing the family of ever ghost hunting tho LMAO it’s a good prompt

I’m gonna tell you a secret. my favourite mirror world counterpart for a character is Glenn’s. he has the most seemingly drastic personality shift and yet he’s also the counterpart who changes the least. also I like Robin Hood style characters
