Dear anonymous,

You took a portion of what I said and twisted it way out of context, flat out ignoring my first and last couple statements validating the OP, making a promise as an adult to do my very best, and sending my love.

I’m sure you’ve triggered for a reason and I appreciate your attempt to stand up for something you believe in and are very passionate about. But in doing so, you’ve made some pretty big assumptions and laid a personal attack on someone you do not know behind the “anonymous” mask. Had you approached me without your mask I would have replied to you privately with the respect we all deserve.

If you are a child who has suffered at the hands of an adult I send you my best and hope you find a way to heal. If you are an adult who has healed from all your childhood wounds then I congratulate you! Most of us spend a lifetime finding our way.

My statement was simply a reminder to our children, that their parents are humans too. We make mistakes. Lots of them. The majority of us are doing our best. Just like our parents did. With the tools we have. In NO WAY was I supporting abuse or neglect of any sort.
