Whenever Stress (Problems) Arise: The Solution
1. Stay in the present as presence: your silent, pure and natural state of being.
2. Create some non-judgmental space (distance) between you and the perceived ‘problem’ in order to remain open-minded (having an objective standpoint).
3. Simply observe the thinking mind being played out in your head (without any emotional reaction, judgment or personal bias). A thought only has as much power as the attention you give it. Diffuse your personal association to what your story-making mind is perceiving as a ‘problem’, so it does not disturb your inner equilibrium and unmoved peace. When you stop throwing wood onto the fire, it will eventually burn out.
Always remember that stress is not an external force beyond your control, rather it is an internal response to a perceived problem, threat or unmet need. It is a story you tell yourself about a particular person, event or circumstance that creates resistance and emotional turbulence. When you feel stress or tension in the body, you have to pause (silence the mind) and allow yourself to feel it fully. The cure for stress in your life is to become more ‘self-aware’, observe your thoughts without getting lost in them and let that perceiving awareness correct your actions with time.
4. Be willing to experience what life has in store for you. Go through what you need to go through, welcome it with open arms without resistance (pain or pleasure). It is enough to be the silent, unmoved observer to your whole thinking process. Respond from the clear space of neutrality (do not react from an unconscious conditioned response), this will allow you to have an observational approach while effortlessly tapping into the field of pure potentiality.
5. Zoom out, trust in the process and creative solutions to help navigate you through life will emerge.
