i dont get how americans can be so comfortable about there being a gun in the house  there’s a farmer nearby who has a license to own a shotgun doing some sport shooting rn (which i think is gross but i cant tell him that) and i feel hella fucking nervous being in the same town as a guy holding a gun let alone having one in my home  youre fuckin insane

well yes on the fear part because I don’t like the idea of anyone being able to access a machine that is literally designed to kill people??  In England, you have to have a licence, background check, and loads of other shit to be able to own a gun, and even then the idea that someone could just get angry and shoot me because there is a gun in the house, or a child could be playing with it and accidently shoot someone scares me.  Literally gun control in the UK is very strict and we have one of the lowest rates of gun crime in the world.
