Shepard paused at the faceless (was there any other kind?) Hanar.

“Yes, but that doesn’t mean we need to stay in bed all day Sarah. There is a strip out there we can explore and cause havoc.”

“Hey, that’s my prettier drink. Why did you take it?” he whined trying to grab it back from her, but missed. His arm falling on the empty spot where the drink was laying down. 

“Damn right I am. Now where is my tiara?!” he shouted, the drinks taking full effect on him at this point. “Noooooo, eyes need more pretty drinks.” he begged, pouting towards the blonde.

“Yep, definitely had enough.” She gave the bartender an apologetic look who just shrugged in return. “Come on, Princess. Tiara is this way.” Taking his wrist, she slung his arm over shoulders as she guided him away from the bar.

Omega. A place where most soldiers don’t really dare to go, but only when they need to be away from others like them. A dingy place where violence and hatred run deep within its confines and an Alliance personnel don’t get friendly looks. Though he wasn’t bothered by the whispers and looks he had gotten when entering the facility. Omega is where James came to wash his mind away. Where he found himself relaxing more than he ever would on the Citadel. Sitting alone and letting the music take over his mind, James drained what was left of his drink quickly. This was the perfect place to relax and let his mind just go to another place. He wasn’t a soldier here, no he was just a regular nobody drinking away his time in this little bar. And being alone was the best way to do this all, until a movement from the corner of his eye brought him back to reality. His brow raised a the honey blonde that sat next to him. He didn’t care another person was joining the bar, but something made him feel unease about this woman’s presence. He looked over at the woman, eyeing her slightly up and down. “Wouldn’t mind another drink.”

Turning in her seat she flagged down the bartender with a gesture and a couple bottles appeared shortly thereafter.

“Cheers.” She said, tapping hers against his before taking a drink. “So, what’s an Alliance Marine doing in this pit?” She asked, keeping her tone friendly and conversational, “Don’t you guys normally haunt Afterlife or the upper levels?” The fact that he was Alliance was evident for all to see, the man was practically in uniform. Sarah had thought about joining when she was a kid, but the raid on Mindoir killed that dream. Her shoulder still gave her issues from time to time.

Her brain turned that phrase over for a beat before she took his beer away from him, downing what was left in the bottle. Which wasn’t much.

“Now that’s a tempting offer, but I think…” he leaned down gently kissing her forehead. “…someone needs to get their lazy butt out of bed.”
