3/6ths of the way to casting foil Urza off of all five foil Unstable basics.

It took this long for the effect of Crucible of Worlds to go onto another card, and it’s a very welcome addition.  Being able to have some redundancy in your land recursion decks such as Gitrog Monster, or really any deck wanting to use lands as a major resource is a major boon.  Sure, Excavator is more fragile and can die easier than Crucible.  But at the same time, it’s easily recurred and can save your life total in a pinch like any other creature can.  If you’re running one, you should probably run the other, although Crucible of Worlds is still prohibitively expensive for some.  Which is why I’m super glad there’s at least this budget alternative if you can only run one.
