Hey, this isnβt targeted at you specifically, thereβs been other people whoβve said similar things so Iβm just here to dispel a misconception.
Shiela in no way is being casual. In the middle panel of her expression she is emotionally affected, looking away. I think the idea of her being casual is when she starts to smoke. Cigarettes are pretty commonly used when someone is going through something emotional as a type of regulation. Iβm sure weβve all seen someone attempting to smoke while their life crumbles in media. This isnβt that different.
Shiela in this saga is under duress. Sheβs selfish, yes, but afraid herself. To say sheβs unaffected by Jasonβs treatment and death is untrue. She speaks to Bruce right before dying herself about Jason.
(On a note about smoking: Yes and no. DC tends to have morally complex/villains smoke, but the further you go back itβs more common for others to smoke too. And adding on to that, being in a large city (like Gotham) it is near impossible to avoid cigarette smoke.)
