I haven't played Royal yet so I dont know if it was established in game how far Marukis dream world reached or if it was a phenomenon localized only in Tokyo/Japan but...

What if Marukis dream world affected other groups of persona users besides the PT?
What if even though it's one of the few days off they have had in a long time the morning of New Year the Shadow Ops, at least only the original SEES members, are reunited around a table in one of their bases, holding another one of the many meetings theyve been forced to do since it was discovered Shido Masayoshi had men planted inside the Kirijo group filtering confidential info to him after his arrest (a headcanon of mine) and they were once again in the middle of a heated discussion about how this could have happened when suddenly the doors to the meeting room burst open and Minato/Hamuko enters apologizing for being late and oversleeping again.
All of SEES can only stare in their seats, perplexed.
Minato/Hamuko being late to meetings is a common occurrence with how much they love to sleep so the rest of SEES simply cant understand why why the sight of Minato/Hamuko apologizing is making them so emotional. Why their chests are constricting so painfully while the corner of their eyes fill with tears.
What if Marukis dream world is so powerful Jun wakes up the morning of January 1rst, brearily opening his eyes to the sight of his beautiful husband peacefully sleeping besides him and a surge of emotion so intense like he had never felt before overcomes him to the point his breath catches in his throat and he has to gasp for air and it doesn't matter how much he tries to contain it because Tatsuya, oh dear Tatsuya, must have realized something was wrong and start stirring, his peaceful sleep broken and then he opens his eyes immediately searching for Juns and the moment they make contact Jun can see Tatsuya goes through the same intense surge of emotions he went and they don't know what's going on but it doesn't matter as long as the other is there and they hug so tightly, holding each other as if they hadn't seen in years, and they would love to spend the whole day cuddling in bed but both Michael and Lisa are bombing their phones with an endless stream of calls (what had gotten to them? Why are they so desperate?) telling them to hurry up or they would be late to lunch at Mayas and Katsuyas lunch like they had planned.
And something feels off but they can't pit their finger on what it is. What could be wrong? Everything is as it always has been.
Until one day of the last week of January a group of friends is reunited in a bar in Mikage Cho, talking and drinking and all around having fun when suddenly a man with a pierced ear stops in the middle of a joke and tells them "It's almost time. You have to wake up" and all his friends are confused by the joke. They don't get it.
The former members of SEES don't get it either when Minato/Hamuko says the same while having dinner at Mitsurus and Yukaris house/the Kirijo mansion.
Neither Naoya nor Minato/Hamuko elaborate on that when their friends ask.
And then the morning of February 4th comes and the world returns to it's normal state and all of SEES wake up and protected by their powers remember everything that happened.
They not only correctly guess what happened was persona related but that the so called Phantom Thieves must be also behind it and they throw themselves into a frantic search looking for them, even more frantic than the one theyve been doing before January came because this is closest they ever been in years to havin their leader, their friend, back.
And then the morning of February 4th comes and Jun doesn't even know what he lost.
And then the morning of February 4th comes and at least 2 women are crying for the friends they lost.
In fact too many people are crying for the too many friends they lost.
