The sleepy

The train is rocking me to sleep while I listen to the spirited away sound track.

Imagine a race of creatures so diffrent from humans that they breath a completely diffrent kind of atmosphere comes across a human ship floating in space, dead and abandoned. They enter and search, but they can't even find the corpses of the crew. Then, one of them trips and falls through the wall of the ship, suddenly transported to the backrooms. They try to scan it, to figure out how big the space is, but the map never stops filling in.

Or a race of aliens finding earth, long abandoned, returned to her wild nature. The only traces of humanity left are the spent nuclear fuel buried underground. And then, while exploring the vast jungles, they find a wall. Its covered in vines, its the only standing reminder that a race of people lived here. Of course they touch it, of course they fall through.

What kind of fucked up impressions of humanity would these aliens have? Their only way to truly study this culture is a liminal space permanently trapped in the gaps between reality, something that hurts to think about or even look at.

After recently rereading the hunger games series in its entirety, I have realized that miss Suzanne Collins has been trying so hard to get people to understand the point of her books. Its like every new book she gets a bigger and bigger hammer labeled "the whole fucking point" and hits her readers in the head with it.

People came away from the first book thinking Katniss was a badass, so in catching fire she made sure people understood that she was traumatized and powerless. But then people started to think that Katniss was a cool rebel leader, so she made it clear that katniss is nothing but a figurehead who had no real power in the rebellion.

But then people started to think that the Capital was an evil monolith and the districts were the unapologetic good guys, so she made sure we understood that Snow and the people like him were the products of war and trauma. But then people started to sympathize with Snow and act like he was just misunderstood, so she made it clear that he is a monster, not for his trauma, but for using his trauma to hurt others.

Everyone know that werewolf and human makes werewolf. We need to break new ground.

Even the cross breeds have become watered down and simple. 'Werewolf and dragon, oh that's a weredragon'

You poor fools. You focus too much on the prefix. There are no limits here. Werewolf and dragon could make a wolf dragon. Be that a wolf with dragon hoarding traits or something different.

But we can go even further.

Cats (the 2019 movie) is proof that the devil exists amongst us and that God died long ago leaving humanity to wallow in their own mistakes.
