Cassian started out as a traumatised and selfish young man who loved a select few. Sometimes he made bad choices, all too often others chose for him. Slowly, the circle of people he cares about expands. He also finds hope in the midst of loss and conflict and wants to make a Home with the love of his life.
But that was never meant for him.
Sometimes the decisions others make for us help shape our path in life, whether we like it or not.
The Messenger is finally where he needs to be. The centre of the rebellion. In this beautiful shot ā the symbol.
Bix chose the Rebellion and in doing that put the Messenger back on the path to where he needs to be.

You Fire Me Up And Then Drop Me Down Cold (Or Is That Reversed?) by write4good
After a long night on patrol on Hoth, Vel is looking forward to a warm meal with her cousin. She's also hoping. Maybe. That at some point. She might see Kleya somewhere in the icy passageways. That would be enough to warm her up, she's sure. Meanwhile, Kleya has been avoiding Vel. As best she can. In the long months since Yavin. Because every time she sees Vel, her blood turns hot. And she finds it a little hard not to stare. What she really needs, is a cold shower.
Extra Special Care by write4good
After an injury, Kleya gets some of Vel's extra special care.
Slow Like Honey by Kiwi_in_space
Itās not fair how Vel can do this to her. Melt her into a puddle of desperation in just a matter of minutes. Play her body like an instrument - one that Vel has apparently made it her life mission to master the craft of. After years of going without this - years where Kleya was terrified to let herself admit how badly she needed to be properly touched, being with Vel is like a veritable feast.
That I Were a Glove Upon That Hand by JJPOR
1ABY: As the Galactic Civil War gathers pace, Captain Marki of Alliance Clandestine Operations has urgent business to discuss with a certain Colonel Sartha.
Aftertaste by rubikswriter
Theyāre not meant to be tender about this; thatās the arrangement. They come to each other because the war is ugly, because sleep is unreliable, because desire is simpler than grief, and bodies are sometimes easier to understand than words.
When the Sun Came up, I Was Looking at You by Kiwi_in_space
āJust this once,ā Kleya breathes. Sheās so close their foreheads are nearly touching. Vel nods, already desperate to get her mouth back on Kleyaās. / āJust this once,ā she agrees. 5 times they told themselves it was a means to an end, and the 1 time they realized it was the ending they both wanted.
Hands and the Heart by kasel
Vel lifts her right hand and hesitates for a moment before she catches the thin blanket Kleyaās draped over herself and pulls it higher to her chest. Then a sudden urge to keep the strands of Kleyaās hair away from her face strikes her. She wants to slide her hands under Kleyaās knees and shoulders and carry her to a proper bed so that she might sleep better.
A Moment Of Peace & A Glorious Sunrise by write4good
After a long night of celebration and revelry on Yavin, Kleya wakes Vel while the rest of the galaxy still seems to be sleeping. She has something she wants to share with Vel. And though Vel is grumpy, she's always happy to spend more time with Kleya.

Watched Andor season 1 for the first time like a month ago and I CANNOT STOP thinking about a cool little detail from Ferrix - the glove wall.
Several times kinda in the background we see people (mostly Brasso) grabbing or replacing unique pairs of gloves on this giant wall at the beginning of the shift. The gloves donāt seem to go on in order (filling the wall top to bottom, left to right, etc) and everyone seems to know exactly where their gloves go. Itās neat to see how many people seem to be at work or not at these given times based on how many gloves are on the wall.
In coal mines, miners would use little round brass tags etched or stamped with a number that would hang on a peg board. The miner would take their tag with them into the mine and replace it at the end of the shift, so at any time a foreman or crew chief could know from the top who was in the mine- very important in case of an accident. Im most familiar with them in Appalachian mines, but I know they were used in other parts of the world as well.
This is what Ferrixās glove wall feels like to me. With the added bonus of all the gloves being unique AND the community implication that itās safe to leave your unique pair of gloves in this communal place- theyāll be there when you come back.
Itās such a fabulous detail. Did you spot that in Ep 11 you can see a pair of the gloves hanging next to Maarvaās chair? Presumably they were her husbandās, Clemās, and sheād kept them there ever since his death š„ŗ

The story of Rebel spy Cassian Andor's formative years of the Rebellion and his difficult missions for the cause.
it started with Cass remembering his sister and ended with it. ā¹ļø
i absolutely loved this series. i think it added a lot to star wars in multiple different ways. The political background of this show is incredible and j think it shows how MUCH effort when it not the rebellion and how much effort they had put into it from all over the place and over the years - i think it perfectly showed how change takes time, but will still happen. no matter if we are around to see it or not.Ā
season 1 was fantastic. the introduction to Cass and all of his friends were brilliant. j love the depth and character growth of Cassion. How reluctant he was to be a rebel and how he only wanted to do what he needed to get bye, but by the end he is a loyal and trusted rebel, even if he knows the struggles that come with that.Ā
season 2 was just as good as season 1, which is something that doesnāt happen to often. it was truly brilliant. all the loses that happened show the truth and reality of war and standing up for something that you believe in.Ā
There are multiple stuff that i thoroughly enjoyed in both seasons but there are my top ones:Ā
Season 1:Ā
- Maarvaās speech. Her death was also a spark for a bigger flame. Her death is what made the people of Ferrix realize they are stronger in numbers than the empire will ever be. Her whole speech is incredible and once again is something everyone should listen to.
- Nemiks speech. It was so important for Cassion to hear considering at that point in time he wanted nothing to do with the rebellion and it was another spark in the flame. i also think it was heavily important for us as the audience to hear not only for the plot of Andor but for also to reply to real life scenarios. Over the world people are constantly being oppressed by those with power, and more people need to realize that change can happen if we make an effort as one. āFreedom is a pure idea. it occurs spontaneously and without instructionā¦The imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural.ā
- The prison arc. Again i also think this was very important for Cassās development as a character. It showed that staying in the backgrounds doesnāt always help, and that you can get caught whenever. I think it also showed how unfair the justice system truly was and how corrupt it was. I also think it was a brilliant demonstration of when you work as a team you can make more change. The scene when they all finally break out and have to jump and swim breaks my heart. Kino knew he wasnāt going to be able to swim free, but he did it for everyone else and he was free in his own way. He was no longer working for them he had managed to escape - even if it meant he was going to die. His knowledge that he knew he wasnāt going to die and carried on breaking everyone else free was heart breaking and another example of him being a spark in the flame in the rebellion.
ā i would rather die trying to take them down than giving them what they wantā āone way out.ā
season 2:Ā
- The dance wedding scene of Leidas wedding. I love how when Mon is dancing, no words are being said but emotion is displayed all over in her body language and facial expressions. You can see her anger and frustration in her dancing but also her sadness that her daughter has done the same thing as she did when she was her age. And the only person to truly notice her (silently) crashing out was her husband whom she didnāt tell any of the rebellion plan to. The scene and the relationships with everyone in the family was truly heartbreaking.
- The Ghorman Massacre. Such an important detail in the story; there were multiple different things that it showed:
Ā 1) it showed how the media twists the truth. The people of Ghorma were peacefully protesting and then brutally murdered - the media twisted it and turned it around the other way: that the imperial officers were trying to peacefully break up the protest and the protesters were the violent ones. It shows how those in power can twist the narrative to fit how they have power.
Ā
2) i think Syrils reaction to the massacre was extremely interesting. Throughout the series we can see that Syril is clearly pro empire, however during this scene specifically we can tell by his body language and through the use of different camera shots that that was necessarily what he had signed up for. Yes he was aware and was willing to give information to the empire but itās like he had in a way regretted it. The camera shot of him slowly going round in circles while everything is blowing up and him twitching at certain sounds is very (in my opinion) very realistic when very traumatizing change is happening around you. i think it was a moment of realization that A) he didnāt want things to get this out of hand and B) that Dedra had lied to him from the very beginning - his relationship with women in his life is already unstable. He and his mother are clearly estranged and she takes any opportunity to challenge Syril. For them Dedra to lie and use Syril was another reason why he had an uneasy relationship with others in his life. i do not like Syril as a character however i do find him extremely interestingĀ in his behaviors and his morals.Ā
3) It was the boiling point for Mon Mothma. We can see that throughout the series sheās not afraid to speak up, but most people are simply to stupid to truly listen to what sheās saying.
- Mon Mothmaās speech. (kinda relating to the above). Her speech in the senate really touched me. She had to make sure that everyone knew what truly happened at Ghorman - she knew in her heart that she wouldnāt be able to live with herself if she didnāt speak up for what she believed is right. she made sure to call the senate out for not saying the truth in the meetings and where the corrupted power truly lies - in emperor Palpatine. I think her speech also clearly collates with todayās real life. There are multiple comparisons that can be seen with Ghorma and Monās speech. Her use of āgenocideā when talking about Ghorma can be seen as relating to the genocide in palestine. Her talk of the corrupt power of Palpatine can be seen as relating to donald trump of any of those who have power and use it for evil and control. The episodes surrounding Ghorman are so important for the storyline but for also us, the audience.
ā The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us.. we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest. This chamberās hold on the truth was finally lost on the Ghorman Plaza. What took place yesterday was genocide!.. The monster who will come for us all soon enough is Emperor Palpatine!ā.
- The introduction to ārebellions are built on hopeā. Itās such a heavy quote that is used in rogue one and to see it used for the āfirstā time in andor is a really strong moment in my opinion. It shows how no matter how small of a job you may have, your words and actions matter. Cassian took those words and passed it on whenever he could - the boy from the hotel led many more people to truly believe in what theyāre fighting for.
I feel as i have already written about Cassian as a character in my Rogue One review, so iāll try not to repeat what i have already said. His character development in this series was incredible. From how reluctant he was at the beginning and then looking at the end when he goes against orders multiple times for what he believes is right. Cassion is an incredible character as a whole and his development is very in depth and shown very carefully in each episode in the seasons. I also liked the introduction to his character - a man who is simply just trying to find his sister.
I think all the characters in the series are written incredibly. From Dedra, who truly is just an evil in depth character - who has no sad backstory and is truly evil and js aware how bad the empire is is a great choice for a character. Syril who just truly believes in what heās doing is right due to propaganda and has that moment of realization when he dies. Bix, who suffered so much and yet continued to fight no matter what; and more characters.
I loved the costume design. Truly incredible. I think you can tell that alot of thought went into what each character was wearing; when and where. All of the senators wearing ironed and bright coloured clothing with nicely done hair - compared to season one in episode 4 at the beginning of the episode; duller colours with messier hair. i think it shows the class difference between the two and where the loyalties lie within the empire. I also loved later on in season one i think either later on in episode 4 or 5 when we see the Aldhani clothing and accessories. i also think to continuously point out that Syrils uniform was tailored was an interesting choice - i think in a way it shows how badly he wanted to conform to his beliefs in what imperials should look like, yet he stood out even more. i think the imper clothing designs in general are deeply fascinating - with the sharp and even collars to the grey scale clothing is clearly all intentional. i love the thought was put into these choices in designs and accessory choices.
The settings were incredible. All of it felt very real and true. it felt like you were really there in the universe and could experience it if you were to go outside.
There are many more things i could say about these series but i will end it here.
If you like star wars iād highly recommend this series.
i think that this series (obviously) adds a lot more context and depth to each character that is shown in Rogue One, but also think it adds all of this into Rogue One itself as a movie.
My favorite quotes from this series:
ā The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. - Mon Mothma
āThere will be times when the struggle seems impossible.. remember this. Freedom is a pure idea. it occurs spontaneously and without instructionā¦The frontier of the rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest acts of insurrection pushes are lines forward. And then remember this. The imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fearā. - Nemik
āThatās what a reckoning sounds likeā. - Maarva Andor
āiād rather die trying to take them down than die giving them what they wantā. - Cassian Andor
āThere is only one way outā. - Kino Loy
āi burn my life to make a sunrise that i know ill never seeā. - Luthen Rael
āi fear for you. Weāve been sleeping.. The empire is a disease that thrives in darkness, it is never more alive than weāre asleep.. if i could do it again, iād wake up early and be fighting those bastards from the start! Fight the empire!ā
Cassian never got to see Bix or anyone else again. ā¹ļø
i wouldāve written more about Cassian and Bixās relationship but iām so insanely tired iām very sorry. Just know that their relationship is very important in almost every way.and how much Bix loved Cassian that she knew she had to leave for him to be successful in the rebellion. In the end they would both pick it.
my overall series review: 5/5
i cried alot watching this series.
also sorry for being gone for so long some crazy stuff happened
Starting and ending with the sister who has never found⦠brilliant little touch. And on both occasions heās dreaming about her and is then woken by his droid.
