I took seven years of algebra and a year of Business Math. GEOMETRY WAS REMOVED AS A REQUIRE COURSE.

Geometry, algebra, trig, a split year of pre-calculus and calculus. And bonuses for advanced algebra and statistics plus business math.

I get asked how often I use trig, which has been the least used at least for me, and I can still day three or four times a year, depending on what I’m working on. Mostly pattern designing but other random stuff too. I use calculus more in 3D art, but algebra basics, at least once a day.

I don’t think people who don’t want it realize how lucky they are. Put aside whether or not you’ll use it. You get to learn it. You’re lucky. Don’t take that education for granted. Knowledge is power and it’s being handed to you.

I had to take 2 algebra classes and a geometry class to graduate high school at the bare minimum. I barely passed the first algebra class and the geometry class and I had to take the 2nd algebra class twice because I failed it the first time. Most people in my high school graduated high school having taken the 2 algebra classes and the geometry class plus trigonometry and a pre-calculus class. My math teachers always looked like someone had run over their mailbox with an 18-wheeler every time I showed up to class but somehow the school system deems it essential to have everyone take the exact same shit despite the fact that some people will never have the aptitude for learning certain things.

Why the fuck did I need Algebra, OP? It’s been a year, I haven’t needed the damn stuff a single time.
