Actually, the other special children had nothing to do with Lucifer's plans at all. Azazel just saw John Winchester and was like okay, I'm going to have a fun, sexy, decades long chase game with him. And then made the other special children to add some fun mysterious clues in the hopes that John would use them to track him down. John was supposed to catch him before the special child hunger games and stop them from happening so Lucifer's vessel wouldn't be involved in that. It's not Azazel's fault he overestimated his crush's hunting abilities

we should have gotten a scene where John tells Sam “son, you’re giving up your dream” and Sam says “no dad, I’m giving up YOURS” I think that would have made the show better
