Well she’s still alive but has maybe a day max left and we have to leave now (we’re gonna get to our hotel at like 2 am now). We got them to agree to get her cremated and send her ashes to me and I will deal with finding an urn for her. I just know if I didn’t as soon as she was gone they would instantly forget about her and go back to only talking about the dog they had back in the day
my aunt and uncle are still somehow in complete denial that they should have taken their cat to the vet when they first noticed she had an issue (and that they should have BEEN taking her to regular checkups) because "we didn't take an oath" "we didn't sign up for anything" (this cat initially belonged to their son but has lived with them for 17 years now btw) like yes you literally signed up to be her caretakers when you took her in
