i don't know how many of you following me know this, but back in the day there was a poptropica spinoff meant for teaching english to kids. you needed to be part of a class that used the course to log in (except for all the kids who guessed their way into accounts to check it out. 10-yr-old me is not free of sin here but i got out after a minute because i felt bad about it)

my aunt and uncle only ever talk about two things: their son and their dog that died in 2012. which would be fine except they also have a daughter and a nearly 20 yr old cat who is probably about to not make it

#you have to understand we were at the vet for this cat after 2 days of coaxing them into it when they should have gone a month ago #and they just kept talking about this dog to the vet. this visit was not about the dog. who has been gone for 14 years.

We found my dads birth certificate yesterday and I was forcefully reminded it was made in the 60s because it listed the fathers occupation but had no spot for the mothers occupation

I went on vacation to convince my aunt and uncle to finally take their almost 20 yr old cat to the goddamn vet, I guess

#they won’t know the test results until Monday when we’ll be gone #but she was a very good patient #so we have to get her some better food and tell them they gotta get used to the idea of getting her to the vet #it was such an ordeal to convince them because they’ve never fucking done it #last time she went to the vet was when she lived with their son in California #when she was. a kitten.#I thought she was 17 but they think she’s closer to 20 #it’s so incredibly lucky that this is her first real issue
