Intended use: torture/wizard duels

Function(s): changes the SOM(state of matter) of bones from solid to liquid, the viscosity can be decided by the spell caster. It can vary from:

Solid

Bendy and soft

More bendy and softer

Hard gelatin like

Really viscous fluid

As consistent as water

My preferred way of utilising this spell is by completely liquidating the skull and the legs, person falls and mushes their brain to jam. Another way is liquidating the extremities(from shoulders to fingertips and from hips to toes), wait until the liquid bones leak in between the muscles, in the muscles, etc, then solidifying them, causing physical paralysis, pain(as the newly solidified bones are broken, and tear into the flesh since their stable structure is destroyed, they are brittle).

I also thought of gelatinifying the bones to cause unstable walking/moving in general experience for the victim, as well as changing the SOM really rapidly, spontaneously going from solid to liquid and all in between. This can prove really confusing to the victim as their bones are litterally melting, solidifying, stretching, etc in a matter of seconds.

No, there is no counter spell. No, there is no spell to automatically revert the bones to normal. Only way is to melt them, and mold them through the flesh.

Sorry fellas, I don’t think it works on exoskeletons, might make one that does as well as on armour since exoskeletons are basically bio armour.

I work in an obstetrician and gynaecologist’s office. we have to tell patients on a regular basis that they are binge drinking weekly when they think they are simply consuming a normal amount of alcohol on the weekends.

having more than 3 drinks in a single sitting if you have an estrogen based endocrine system is a binge that is medically significant.

having more than 5 in a sitting is a medically significant binge for someone with a testosterone based endocrine system.

every time you do this, it significantly impacts your risk of getting breast cancer, and damages your liver. it takes time to recover from that liver damage. if you’re having a 3-5 or more drink binge on a weekly basis, you are an alcoholic, medically speaking, and your liver is not recovering.

again: the bar for what binge drinking is, medically, is so much lower than what you think it is.

alcohol is a really toxic substance and not something you should fuck around with.

again: if you have an estrogenized hormone system (common for most women), then 3 drinks is a binge. if you have a testosteronized hormone system (common for most men), then 5 drinks is a binge.

anything above that number, consumed as frequently as weekly or more, and you’re medically a binge drinking alcoholic.

also, if you’re drinking any quantity of alcohol 6 days a week or more, that’s another threshold at which, medically speaking, you meet the definition of alcoholism. your liver needs more days without alcohol in your system than just one a week to recover and be healthy.

I don’t say any of this to shame anyone—to me, alcoholism or substance use disorders aren’t a sign of weakness or moral failing. and most of us genuinely don’t know this stuff.

information is key. you don’t have to stop drinking, but the utter lack of education on alcohol + the normalization of binge drinking in current society leads to many people drinking without any idea of what it’s doing to their bodies.

Just look at it. It is the most perfect visual representation of Newton’s 2nd law of physics I’ve ever seen. The ball, which was shot out of a CANNON, drops straight down. Two equal and opposite velocities completely canceling each other out, leaving the soccer ball to drop to the earth with a net velocity of 0. Sir issac newton would be proud to tears of this gif.

And yet this “myth” is nothing more than basic physics at work. A 10 year old with an interest in science could have told us this is possible. 60mph in one direction minus 60mph the exact opposite direction is 0. Basic.

But what makes this so frieken cool is the fact that they went through all the trouble to actually demonstrate the invisible laws that govern the way our universe works. To get this shot both the soccer ball and the truck had to be moving at the exact same speed. Real world variables make that extremely difficult to pull off. It took them hundreds of attempts to get it right. They went through all that trouble to “prove” something we have known as fact for hundreds of years. And we get this amazing gif to watch as a result.
