It’s a casual Tuesday afternoon. You’ve had lunch already and were just going over some boring reports. You know, the typical hunter’s hustle. You couldn’t help but yawn, slowly feeling a wave of sleepiness taking over. Then something unexpected happened…

A paper plane flew through the window that you’d opened earlier to let the fresh air in. The paper plane landed perfectly in front of you, and you couldn’t help but notice there was writing on it.

Curious, you walked towards the window and peeked through.

“Pipsqueak!”

That voice.

“It’s me! I am back”

You quickly ran towards the door, struggled to put in your sneakers then ran out the apartment. You made it to the entrance to the apartment complex where Caleb was, waiting for you. Without a second thought you jumped into his arms, causing him to stumble a little and dropping his duffel bag on the floor, then you hid your face in his chest.

“You missed me, didn’t you?” Caleb said playfully, caressing the top of your head with his left hand while his right embraced you.

But you didn’t move away.

“Did you read my letter?” He asked and now you finally looked up at him —tears still pooling in your eyes. He cupped your face between his hands and he placed a kiss on your forehead “I’m sorry I was gone for so long…”

A sniff escaped you, but you still smiled at him.

He was finally here with you again.

“C’mon…” he grabbed his duffel bag again and put an arm around you “I’ll read you that damn letter myself”.

You walked towards your apartment again. Glad that he was back home.
