From my experience, art can take time. And I think she just wants to make sure it’s right and that she’s telling the story she wants to tell. I think what Mollie is doing is incredibly real and raw, showing people in ways they may not be the most comfortable. I make people look how they want to look, and I think that’s just as artistic and beautiful. 

Yeah, that’s true. I guess art is always about like--art. Like sometimes Mil will go off on these tangents about what our dance is about and what this and that means and I don’t always get it, but I know it’ll be beautiful and what not. I’ve always liked more straight forward art, I guess. Like, hey this dance is for your sister, this one’s for your mom, la de dah. 

Literally! Hey, Codie, can I ask you something? Something kind of personal?

Of course you can.

I don’t think that’s where my life is going anymore, but thanks for offering. 

No prob. If I’m being honest, I regretted the offer as soon as it came out of my mouth. I promised I’d help Casey and Stone watch the kids over the summer and now I’m like--okay, I don’t want more shit to do. Stop offering Codie.

Something about it being triggering for him. I dunno… It’s not a situation I like to think about. To be fair, I don’t like to think about hard things. 

Jealous. I think about hard things too much. And little things that I make into hard things too. Like, for instance, my girlfriend just re-followed her ex on Instagram. For what? I don’t know. But I’m going to be miserable about it all night.

Honestly, no. It was a lot of work and I loved doing it, but I just don’t feel like that’s where my life is leading me to. 

If it ever leads you back there, I can always help you edit. I’ve been kinda into editing since Ms. Poluka’s video production class last semester.

I blame the quarantine. 

I blame the small town. Thank God boys aren’t my jam. I couldn’t imagine being a pregnant teenager. I mean I love your kids, but I love giving them back too. If I had to be a mom all day I think I’d die.

I will certainly keep that in mind. And if you see me in a floral skirt around my dear older brother, just know that I’m dying inside. 

Hey, tell Cal floral went out of style like five years ago. We have a female Vice President now, damn it, he can’t chain you down anymore. Be you. Ride your skateboard. Literally who cares.

I always wanted my own room and my own bed. We moved so much, I could never get comfortable. I can sleep just about anywhere now, though. 

I dunno. In San Francisco I was a smoke weed behind the dumpster, ride your skateboard at school kind of girl. I don’t think I can get away with that being under Cal’s watchful eye. Big Brother is watching. That is both a 1984 reference and a true statement about my loving older brother.

Well, Brooklyn normally stashes some weed up in the attic for people when he has extra, and there’s a new fan up there that sucks the smell out, but you didn’t hear anything from me.
