Ground War || Mission 3
Post Order: @thenamesrogue, @detective-jamesdwyer, @gwynxapxnudd, @codenamemalachite
Location: HOPE headquarters
Harry looked weird, that he knew. He also knew if Norman saw Osborn tech put in the open - especially this, letâs be honest, this was weapons - heâd tear Harry a new one. Literally and figuratively. But Harry also knew this wouldnât stop at just mutants. Hell, if they knew about him theyâd probably call him one too (which raised the question whether mutants are just born or can be made). Then what would he do? No, like Norman always said, you needed to choke the weed before it grows. HOPE was just one big weed. So Harry arrived suited up with OsCorp tech armor, on the glider, and pumpkabombs attached to his armor. Apparently he was assigned to someone from that mutant school. He thought her name was Rogue, which he found incredibly stupid but that wasnât the iss- Harry instinctively ducked and raised the glider higher when he heard shots. Fingers wrapped around his bombs like the were pokeballs. Holy shit - was their leader during lasers from her eyes? âGot something in your eye..?â Harry got closer to the opposing side, tossing a pumpkabomb towards them. { @codenamemalachite }
Apparently, the HOPE operatives had just been waiting for Rogue to move, or get into range, or something, because they hadnât been firing on her before. But the laser eye beams made them stop and hide, because really, why wouldnât they? Rogue had never used Kid Gladiatorâs eye beams before, though sheâd accidentally absorbed Scottâs powers a few times, and these were sort of similar. Thankfully, the Kidâs powers were a little easier to control. Rogue didnât need special sunglasses to stop her from blasting everything she looked at. But it did require some amount of precision and concentration. She couldnât exactly see through the beams.Â
She glanced at the detective and grinned back, her eyes going back to their typical green. âThe laser beams are only temporary, sugar, but yeah, not a good idea to piss me off as a general rule.â Speaking of making her angry, Rogue turned to look at the Green Goblin-suited Harry Osborn, who she only flashed a little smirk at his comment.
The pumpkin bomb exploded in the midst of a few operatives (one went flying), and Rogue joined Harry Osborn as he moved closer, motioning for the rest of the group to follow. Then it was more laser beams shooting from her eyes, only in short blasts, though, one by one.
After the work of the team the first group on the outside of the building was taken care of. âOkay. As Ah was sayinâ. Weâre here to stop the HOPE operatives and rescue the innocents trapped inside the building. If they have HOPE gear, we knock âem out. If they attack us, we knock âem out. We protect each other, and any innocents, so if we need to use deadly force to keep each other alive, them, well, we need to.â It was unfortunate, and she hated it, but it was true. âAny questions or concerns?â
Harry navigated between gunshots and lasers on the glider. He was getting much better at this, he thought to himself. Some HOPE operative tried to hitch a ride by grabbing on, so he just flew in zig zags to shake him off. He returned the smirk to his leader, a little flirtatiously. He had no problem fighting back anyone trying to bite first. He pressed his heel down to extend the weapons on the glider, moving towards the first wave of defense. He made an easy pathway as they jumped out of the way and into more fire. âHOPE Gear and attackers, got it. Lead the way, captain.â He hovered about four feet off the ground. He counted the pumpkabombs on his belt. Enough to make a quick exit door if necessary and then some. @codenamemalachite @thenamesrogue
Bunch of damn cockroaches. Thatâs what they were and he was going to stick with it. Actually...No, ants would better describe what had just happened to him, but it was also his own damn fault. Junho nearly did not show up as there was an inner conflict that burned within him. Should he fight for the greater good or just wait it all out to see who won. Standing from the sidelines, letting people from both sides fight and die because of their beliefs. Such a same the world has come to this once again.Â
He was snapped out of his thoughts when he was charged at by a man. Moving aside to avoid the blunt weapon aimed at his head, Junho struck out with his elbow and struck out his leg to bring the man down before delivering a swift kick to the face. Should knock him out or keep him down for a bit, after all, steel toed boots hurt like a bitch. âBunch of damn ants....Making me lateâ He grumbled as he looked around to find his team since he had arrived right as the fight began and continuously being detained from getting further in. Although  it also did not help the sight of the kind of gear HOPE personel had. He had to keep moving and hope to the higher ups or whatver kind of god lived up there that his team had survived this far into the game.Â
Pain sliced his cheek the moment he caught sight of the woman who was the captain of the team. Ducking down to avoid more gun fire, he realized that an agent of HOPE had tried to sneak up on him, just like they had been since he arrived late to the game.Â
âAbout time you joined us, pretty boyâ James called out as he swung the rifle around to take down another member of HOPE. Well, more like incapacitate them as best he could. Not his fault if they ended up dead. Glancing back at Rogue and Harry, he called out. âIâll catch up. Fly boy! Keep the path clear for me if you can. Our last team member finally arrivedâÂ
James was glad that the entire team was here now, they could sure use all the help they could get at this point. Standing up from his hiding spot, the detective charged toward Junho, shouldering the rifle and bring out the hangun so that he could take down the enemy if they got too close to him or the other.Â
âI got stuck and youâre a pretty good shot for an old manâ responded the taller man as he stood up and smirked. James chuckled a bit and nodded back toward Rogue. âIâll brief you on what our captain said. Come, we got some damage to do. Got any weapons on you?âÂ
Getting a nod in return, James proceeded to relay what Rogue told him and Harry as they both made their way back toward them. Taking down any who came too close between the bullets James fired and Junhoâs backup until they catch up.Â
âShe has laser eyes?âÂ
James had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from busting out in laughter at the comment. âThat she does, but focus on the task at hand pretty boyâÂ
