@codecracked gets a thread she didn’t ask for

Three months had passed since the ‘battle of Starcourt’, since the coverup stories began to really circulate again; names thrown around as if they were nothing.  With the Byers’ having left Hawkins to move across country, Nancy had found herself feeling that isolation sensation again, something that she knows in the back of her mind isn’t good.  When the hell had she become one of those girls that was that reliant on her boyfriend?  

The bell rings for the end of the school day, Nancy collecting her papers, placing them into her trapper keeper, when her blue eyes drifted upwards directly to one person.  The two girls had had classes together sophomore year, and now again as seniors, but given that Robin had literally been pulled into all of the bullshit in July, Nancy just… Wanted to check in on her.  And, no, it isn’t some feeble, sad attempt because the brunette realizes she doesn’t really have actual friends.

“Hey, Rrr… Robin, right?”  Nancy is already kicking herself at this point, but she presses onward, her gaze and voice softening.  “I probably should have done this, like, months ago, but there was still so much going on, and- How’re you doing?  With everything?”  

Robin’s backpack has just been slung over her shoulder when she notices the other girl walking her way.  Strange as it was  ( Seriously, when had Nancy Wheeler ever paid her any amount of attention whatsoever? )  she couldn’t help the way her eyebrow quirked upward, curiosity written into the lines of her face.  After all, their history wasn’t a complicated one.  Robin knew who Nancy was, Nancy vaguely knew of her own existence, and they had both managed to survive the battle against a giant fleshy spider monster.  Super simple.

 ❛  Uh, yeah  ---  Hey, Nancy.  ❜   She says, fingers toying with the strap of her backpack, just needing something to do with her hands. 

❛ yeah, okay, i have two scoopers. so what? what are you, the scooper police? ❜ christ’s sake, couldn’t she lay off? it was bad enough being cooped up in here with her for eight hours out of the day, let alone the relentless ass chapping. ❛ y'know, it’s just—— sometimes you gotta switch it up, y'know, like a baseball bat. can’t be expecting the same level of greatness from the same scooper eight hours of the day, robin, it makes—— a lot of sense, … actually! ❜ what say you to that, @codecracked?
