My only critic is that I kinda hoped "the ring" looked a bit older, however I suppose we don't know when these appearances take place or if the storm reverses people and only gives them new identities randomly (so not every era). I only wished he looked older to show how Vertin's childhood friends, without her knowing, we're all living their lives without her.

Okay discussions theories below that deviate from normal art posting because im going crazy. First, we got another new person???? THERE'S MORE????????

There design seems interesting, so I'm just curious if they're friend or foe atp.

OKAY NOW FOR THE JUICY STUFF THIS SCENE CHANGES MY BRAIN.

THIS SCENE. OKAY SO 3 THEORIES

First theory: This is a Qiao Ling power moment. Here, we see for the first time pinkish eyes which is like "Who??". Which led me to beleive that this isn't Lu Xiao, but rather someone controlling him. To me, this would explain why Vein seems to be fighting him. However, one wrench in this theory would be how Qiao Ling would do this, as they only inherited Li Tianxi's empathy powers. THIS COINCIDES WITH ANOTHER THEORY I HAVE.

First Theory Supplement: Li Tianchen will eventually betray all sides and help the Main gang out. As a character I have a lot of thoughts about Li Tianchen and his role in the future. Unlike the others who have active stakes in this whole time scheme, Li Tianchen has little stakes. His sister is already dead and his attempts to reverse time have already failed, he's a puppet just waiting to be pawned, as he's realized near the end of s2. Because of this, Li Tianchen teaming with Vein (in assumption Lu Xiao and Vein actually split up), would make sense as Li Tianchen holds no loyalties likely. Because of this, I can easily see a redemption arc for the man in which he finally actually takes control of his life (I could go on about how his character's intertwined with the theme of fate and power), and helps Qiao Ling and the main gang. For his redemption, ergo, I predict it'll be interactions between Qiao Ling and Li Tianchen that may change his path (Go big sister qiao ling!).

First Theory Continuation: And so! Li Tianchen and Qiao Ling team up to control Lu Xiao at that moment via photos, for whatever reason, however Vein easily finds out this change in demeanor and counteracts it.

Second Theory: The eye colors are vaguely similar, however I do think the fight scene is still more on the pink side, is that whoever's controlling Lu Xiao is the new guy we see for like 1 second. Why? Idk? but its out there

Third Theory: Lu Xiao here is actually activating his powers, and there's genuine conflict between lu Xiao and Vein. Perhaps Vein is angry that Lu Xiao caused his "death" without him knowing? Perhaps Vein is upset that whatever happened during his abscene, led to Xia Fei getting involved. Speaking of Xia Fei...

I knew this was going to happen since this man is a Vein Simp tm. I was always curious how he'd be intertwined with the antagonist roles since Xia Fei is normally kindhearted, however one thing I believe he doesn't have as strongly is Cheng Xiaoshi's altruism. And so, seeing him (possibly?) beat up and kill a bunch of guys and join whatever mafia stuff Vein has? Checks out... Side note, CXS still thinking about saving Xia Fei, im so sorry king he has likely has yall as his targets he is not a pal rn.

I do wonder if Xia Fei will get a redemption arc, however I predict he'll leave the conflict if Vein follows.

Now back to Qiao ling and Cheng Xiaoshi. WHY IS MY GIRL BLEEDING. WHY ARE MY SIBLINGS BLEEDING? WHAT IS GOING ON?????? I feel like the fandom forgets due to how Lu Guang was really fixated on his boyfriend, that in that same scene, Qiao Ling was also bleeding to death when CXS passed. My boy losing his found family like dominoes because unfortunately both of them are just morally good people. Though when Qiao Ling is bleeding from her mouth, I wonder if thats the result of her using her power? Perhaps she empathized too close to the sun she took the pain from someone?

SO, just finisehd the newest chapter of r1999 and wanted to share some of my thoughts! First things first, my overall opinion of the story is that its generally pretty good! Not my favorite, but tbf i don't think anything can beat the Apeiron, Vienna, and Laplace arc for me.

To be entirely honest, I haven't been too keen on the story for r1999 when act 2 began. Tristes Tropiques really but a foul taste in my mouth for reasons you can likely assume, but aside from those, just the way act 2 was set up was, to me, really messy. One thing that I found really odd with act 2 was how they introduced and intertwined characters, or rather, their lack there of. For whatever reason, our only constants throughout the plot that was Vertin or Sonetto, is kinda Moldir and Ulrich- whom rarely got to interact with each other till the last chapter of act 2. Recoleta and Aleph, though very interesting on their own and personally some of my favorite characters, we're introduced oddly in this act, serving little to no purpose outside of their roles in Comala Prison. Unlike in previous acts where characters appeared for multiple chapters outside of their introduction chapter, these two were just tossed aside, and this segways to also characters like Lopera and Anjo Nala. These one off introductions really made the story feel less connected and to me, really lessens the emotional investment compared to the other chapters.

With that out of the way! A Long Long way really raises my hopes of this possibly being remedied in the future. Seemingly so Charon and Sentinal stories are far from over and this is all just a beginning. Im very interested to see how Sentinal's arc will go from the future, as she struggles against her morality and pursuit for justice. For Charon, while his arc seems finished, as he ventures with Meryl, I wonder if they'll explore Charon's sadness in his inability to stop and injustice from happening- how he lacks the courage to face said cruel decisions, alongside if they allow Charon the opportunity to prevent such cruel decisions from needing to be made- giving Charon the agency Paul never had. Furthermore, with introductions to characters like Marsha, Creius, Sentinals cousin (I forgot his name lol), and more- there seems to be build up to not having this cast be forgotten, and seemingly are planning to make this feel less disjointed with their casts.

However one thing, along more, I'd have to say about this newest chapter is that, and idk if its just me, or some of these nodes felt really short? Especially towards the end, and while I guess you can say it can symbolism the rapid fire nature of war, I could'nt help but feel we we're really speeding towards Sentinal's confrontation with the demon really fast. I guess I just wanted more downtime or interactions bettwen the cast a little more with the nodes, like more talks between Sentinal and Marsha, Marsha and Creius, (am I the only one who thought they were siblings or something, and Meryl and Charon. I suppose they have the next chapter but I feel like a little more build up would've been great.

Another critque ig is that idk if it was just me, but the motivations of the Manus creating an army, and the overall shift towards the Manus's big plans, felt kinda like forced? I suppose? Idk how to phrase it, but it just felt all so sudden near the second half of the chapter. This kinda segways to another issue I felt duringthis chapter is the lack of discussions regarding the conflict between Humans and Arcanists. In previous chatpers, the conflict between Humans and Arcanists was always the root of the chaos spurred by the manus vindictae. However in this chapter, while it defnitely was still their motive, I felt lack it was hardly touched upon at all? It just kinda surprised us with "Arcanists we're persuaded after beign taken advantage of during a human led war!" And while I do think they may have been trying to push the message that all we're taken advantaged of during the war, leading to the lack of discussions between humans and aracanists about their differences, I kinda wish we just saw more of it? Idk it just felt very sudden.

I HATE HOW I PUT THIS STUPID STORY OFF SOME MUCH.

To be honest, for many of the chapters ppl said they cried on I didn't really feel any tears leaking out, but chapter 225 broke me for no reason I started sobbing.

The tears just started pouring when he went home, aka the old dorms, and just went to sleep so peacefully. FML I HATE THIS.

I'm not finished but I'm close and holy crap I'm not ready for this to end?? I miss so much them just hanging out with each other in the dorms like I'm so sad actually.
