The Coastal Fanclans

Starlight is a brown pelican who fills a similar role to Midnight in the Coastal Clans. A bird who has faded to legend in the modern clans, the story goes that Starlight has a mysterious connection to Starclan and once saved the clans from famine after a terrible fire by filling his pouch with fish and delivering a bounty of food to each clan. I guess this makes a fine enough first post in months

I guess for my first actual art post on here I'll share some old-ish art of Caveclan and Tideclan's leaders, Cavernstar (pale lilac-point) and Sandstar (paler sandy colored tabby), and their siblings Slatestep (darker lilac point) and Dustmane (darker, shaggier sandy colored tabby).

One thing you'll probably notice about my characters fairly quickly is that I tend to gravitate toward messy sibling relationships. It's just a really fun dynamic to dig into.

Welcome to the Coastal Clans, a set of fanclans created by @kes-trel and @appledeers! These four clans, originally conceived in 2018, take place along a coastal stretch of biodiverse habitat inspired primarily by Santa Cruz, California (and also a few other niche spots we can elaborate on if anyone is curious). Caveclan (purple), Gorgeclan (green), Tideclan (blue) and Spireclan (orange) are the four clans that call this land home, and their environment is inspired by a deep love of nature and the outdoors that the two of us share.
