Coarse & Uncouth

So I was making a warm Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cadburrypieces Sandwich and I was thinking about how nice my roommate, Philip, was for letting me have some. He is good-looking, kind, funny, nice, and genuinely a good person. He’s a gentleman, he shares his food, he loves talking about the future, science,technology philosophy, and worldstar hiphop! He raps and loves hiphop, but not just any hiphop, jazz and brass hiphop. He is from an island country in the Caribbean and his body shows it. And as these thoughts rattled in my head another set merged in. I wonder how his parents raised him to be like that! He really is such a nice boy. They must have really been good people. I wonder if they consciously raised him like that or if they just happened to be the best people in the world and by association, so is he. Orif they did mean for him to be so awesome then…how? They’ve done such a wonderful job of raising their son! What a good kid.

The commentary in my head of the running script stopped cold. What was going on? I thought he was so cool? Why… are you now praising his parents like an estranged relative who’s finally met their great great uncle’s cousins son?! How suburbia of me. How..motherly.
