Thankfully he had been ready to receive her enthusiastic welcome, arms open to catch the electro archon and cushion her fall into him. Rex honestly expected some resentment over him faking his death and thus reassuring Ei’s vision for perfect eternity, that will be addressed later for now he returned the hug.

A hearty chuckle from Rex as he just cradled her easily in his arms, his strength the same as ever even without the gnosis.

“It is a delight to see you expressive as ever my dear, it is wonderful to see you again.”

                 oh to yearn for old habits ,  where tail braid sways  &&.  swishes behind her while she gravitates closer to his hold .   lips tenderly move in  &&.  ghost his cheek ,  an intimate symbol of just how much she had missed him .   hands barely nest along his back ,  too busy swatting at his own ponytail that drapes down his shoulders .   toying ,  playful  ;      the oni is once again far too elated for her own good .

                 she is absolutely bitter over the imbalance of power displayed before the traveler ,  of a scorned warrior seeking vengeance for a friend long forgotten by the shogun .   ei who recognizes kadehara ,  who embellishes the wrath boiling under puppet’s hull ,  of oni losing patience within its husk .   electro crystal horns fire off pure static that crisp the air into a electrogana field around them ,  forcing the mass electro burn to wear against them .

                 at least ,  that’s what memory serves .   to see the anemo user walk away after a war waged .    .    .   it burns ei up inside .   she wants to apologize ,  to acknowledge her mistakes  &&.  move on .   but stubbornness proves once again to be her undoing ,  now face to face with kazuha .   for a moment she pauses to breathe ,  to steady her lungs from their raptured labor .

Violence

Physical Violence is a common, yet bold hate language. It’s old as time and is as natural as rain. It’s often one of the first thoughts that come to us when we feel hatred, but you actually have the moxie to go through with it. Fist fights at bars and you think assassination is the best option in politics. You’re an absolute loose canon. Your most likely crime would be murder. The only down side of this hate language is how hard it is to get away with it.

Leans a bit to look down at her. “Rest Ei.” 

It was said in a soft yet firm tone, the underlying ‘i won’t let you leave my side until you take some time to recoup’ went unsaid but it was there. Settling on his back keeping her close and able to rest her head on his chest, Rex with his free hand threaded through her hair to soothe and allow Ei to drift off. Unsure how much the puppet could feel though he did the gesture for himself too. Soft lavender strands contrasting against amber hands.

                 he dares brave the tempest ,  the harsh tides at sea that crash like the thunderous bellows above ?   body resists ,  fights to stay conscious out of spite .   eyes remain open in the wake of pooling exhaustion causing watering ,  even with the bitter resentment of losing anything more to the better of others .                  pride was all but forgotten by the archon ,  something ei clung desperate to nowadays .

A little nuzzle to her hair, mindful of Ei’s horns since as someone with horns himself knows they can be sensitive if touched. When the draconic geo lord was content he can be a tad overly affectionate. “Take your rest Ei, you deserve it. I will be vigilant enough we can both take this reprieve.”

Since he actually didn’t sleep if anything were to disturb them he’ll act at a moment’s notice.

                 lines blur as she feels his heat overwhelm her form ,  encase her in a comfort so estranged ei never felt she’d experience again .   lost sibling flashes in her mind’s eye ,  distracts her as tension slowly fades into an exhausted slump ,  that which melts doll’s body upon rex’s own .   she’s emotionally spent with the new nuance of inazuma ,  of having fought battles within her ethereal plain ,  &&.  all but losing once again .                  she deserves it ,  rex says .   cruel how fate works .

The dig at herself doesn’t go unnoticed by the geo archon. Rex sees her fidget and not entirely relax. He won’t be able to wind down if he knew she was like this. Sitting up Rex gently wraps an arm around her middle and guide Ei to lay down next to him, pressing her close but not too close, does not wish to make her uncomfortable.

“You can rest here Ei, make yourself comfortable.”

                 guiding fingers trace her form ,  lay her rugged attachment to the mortal coil down alongside him .   though the spirit imprisoned within cannot atone to every sensation a human body might replicate ,  ei certainly feigns a hand to hide the tiniest fraction of a flustered smile that cracks along fair lips .   what was this euphoria ?   this trembling delight of knowing someone held so close yet     -- so far from one’s true conscious ?

“I should be fine after this rest, despite being retired I still am needed for my job.” 

A deep content purr. “Thank you Ei.”
