What a wonderful post from @coachmelaniebenson - I saw this on @Twitter and responded with a few things I am #grateful for that happened during my Sunday walk (see photos on Facebook). And then a few minutes later I thought of a few more things that happend that day that I appreciated. . . Wow... how cool is that! 🙏To steep my thoughts in what is good right now is so good for the #soul. ...My list continued with 🙏 I am grateful for my family who gave me toilet paper. My friends who I got to chat with on zoom. My dance teacher who provided a video we could practice. The opportunity to connect with family by phone and hear how well they are doing. The cooperation at the stores for social distancing. The store staff that is serving us daily. The @TraderJoes crew members who offered water and protein bars while waiting in line. Acceptance of a situation is a wonderful thing. My grandmother always said... make the best of it. On International Womens Day I watched the movie "Harriet" about Harriet Tubman born a slave who in her lifetime: ✅ risked her life over and over to guide over 150 slaves to freedom ✅was the only female to lead armed forces during the Civil War ✅ had to escape to Canada from the north to evade fugitive slave catchers after the fugitive slave act was enacted I sobbed after this movie feeling so upset that so many had to endure such horrific injustices and human cruelty. And to know so many more were not as "lucky" as she. Today there are many being treated as less than human including women and minorities for reasons based in fear. I am beside myself about this knowing today our culture is being driven by the misiuse of fear. Hope lies within. Will you stand up 👍 and honor equality, choose the kinder path, open up to being more generous of heart❤️, and give up attachment to fear? Why not smile 🙂 at fellow humans? Touch someone with calmness and if they honk at you, or say something you react negatively to, choose grace - not condoning but not punishing either. Stand for them being better, by being better and calling them to rise up beyond their fear. Harriet stood up for her dream of freedom in this country for all and she fought through her fear. She was clear on her outcome, her dream. And kept her focus there to keep going. Will you rise up for a peaceful, kind, safe and generous world with me? "Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." PS: After "Harriet" I watched "Frozen 2" and this is what Elsa said, "Fear is what can't be trusted." Gotta love the message.
