I see him discovering a lot of western bands online, as a lot are said to have influenced j-rock especially around the '00s with a lot of grunge and nu metal. Genre wise, I think it's a mix of indie, rock, alt, metal, grunge, and some emo... For specific artists:

Radiohead, The Smiths, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Alice In Chains, The Cure, Korn, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Senses Fail. & For some cult jams in his later years: Bring Me The Horizon, Sleeping With Sirens, AFI... And I think he'd fuck with Babymetal. I think he'd show the girls Babymetal.

& because I have to be extra specific... Some favorite albums in his school years that he would definitely have on his little Walkman E: In Rainbows & OK Computer - Radiohead, In Utero & Bleach - Nirvana, Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness - The Smashing Pumpkins, Dirt - Alice In Chains, aaaand Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park.

i'll preface by saying i see him as a romantic, so by extension i see him as a total freak. the two just have to exist hand in hand. he will always be down horrendously nasty for his partner. his bf WILL be drenched and disgusting if he has any say in the matter.

- hes an only child, but he did really wish to have a sibling as a kid. his parents did try, but were never able to have a successful pregnancy.

- while he considered himself close enough to his parents, there was definitely still a wall between them, each in different ways. he struggled to fully connect with them; not really because of a distance they created, but there was just no way they could fully understand, so he elected to be selective with the information and struggles he shared.

- he still loved them, naturally. that didn't stop. it was his duty to as a son, he believed, as it was theirs to love him. even now, he holds love for them, though many likely think it isn't true considering he killed them. i think gojo's reaction was so... visceral.... because he knew of suguru's love for his parents obviously, but above all, he knew how devoted suguru was to protecting the weak; killing his parents meant both of these fundamental beliefs suguru held no longer existed. understanding stopped there, where i believe suguru's logic was more along the lines of "the weak are creating the problems plaguing them, humanity is creating curses for this endless cycle because they're too weak to handle intense emotions and control their cursed energy, the only way this cycle stops is if those who can't control their energy aren't alive to be a risk, therefore killing them(parents) is somewhat merciful because they can't be subjected to a far more violent death."

- it was easy for him to kill everyone else, he deemed them part of the evil cycle in the world, and their eagerness to have innocent children branded monsters did nothing but reaffirm what he had already been considering. it wasn't easy to do to his parents. it was its own necessary evil, to him. ultimately, i think he wanted their death to be as quick as possible, and utilized the curse that wouldn't make them suffer entirely. they went in their sleep, but not as peacefully as he would have liked.

- i think, as a child knowing he was different, there was a small part of him that felt alienated no matter how much he pushed it down, no matter how much of the feeling was his own doing. nanako and mimiko were living through the nightmares he had, and he wondered if his parents ever regarded him with the same fear.
