i’ve personally witnessed all of this firsthand in kuwait, which as of 10 years ago (not sure where it stands today) was found as one of the worst places for human rights in the world. 

a loooot of these migrant workers are women (from south asia, southeast asia, and africa) who will be brought into the country under the assumption that they’ll be nannies or housekeepers, and then once they finally move into the house of the family that’s “hired” them, will have their passports and other documentation forcefully taken away, basically making them hostages. as one would expect, these women will then suffer a looooot of sexual abuse and literal torture. they are trafficked between friends, coworkers, colleagues, etc. it’s not uncommon for them to be physically scarred after the entire ordeal, IF they ever make it out somehow or the men of the house grow bored with them.

many foreigners with enough pull who are staying in these countries will have networks to help these women either escape or hide away from the families that they were forced to stay with. only thing is, most foreigners aren’t living in the country permanently, so if one of these women are lucky enough to stay with one foreign family, they’ll have to move on to another in a matter of years or even months.

another major factor that keeps these migrant women indebted to the arab families is that they could be coming from a coercive situation in their home countries, like usually a husband or other male family members will intentionally send them overseas to the arab countries and have them send back any money they actually make, if at all. some women are so desperate that they steal from their wealthy host families to have something to send back home, but of course if they’re ever caught the consequences are unbelievably violent and often overlooked by authorities if they result in heinous injury or even death.

as for the male migrant workers, as op said they’re horribly mistreated, whether they’re family drivers or construction workers. most families with drivers will live in massive luxury villas, yet the driver himself will often be forced to live in a detached shed without running water or even electricity. men working construction will often live in the actual unfinished construction site they’re working on, like literally sleeping on concrete inside the skeleton of the unfinished buildings. even when it rained or there were sandstorms. we have pictures of these same men having to use thin wooden slabs for makeshift scaffolding, and simple ropes tied around themselves. it’s a fucking mess.

and yes if you talk to locals, it very much is a matter of racism (south/southeast asians and black africans are basically considered a slave class and the darker you are the worse it is) and religious supremacy.

leo: the smell of an evening barbecue, the sight of sparklers, the sound of whistling, the taste of coca-cola, the feel of warm sunshine.

virgo: the smell of a forest, the sight of vines on buildings, the sound of vinyls, the taste of avocado, the feel of leaves rustling under your shoes.

libra: the smell of vanilla, the sight of painted handprints on a wall, the sound of a movie soundtrack, the taste of italian food, the feel of a warm bubble bath. 

scorpio: the smell of bonfires, the sight of bookshelves in libraries, the sound of a type-writer, the taste of whiskey, the feel of an oversized jumper.

sagittarius: the smell of candles, the sight of fairy lights, the sound of a church choir, the taste of mint, the feel of nostalgia.  

capricorn: the smell of book pages, the sight of tartan patterns, the sound of a busy city street, the taste of coffee, the feel of ambition.

aquarius: the smell of nail polish, the sight of a full moon, the sound of a music box, the taste of liquorice, the feel of goosebumps.
