So because Monty is a snake, I have to take her to a specialty exotics vet but taking a snake anywhere is a bit of a hassle since I can't just plonk her in a standard pet carrier, so I've taken to putting her in a knotted pillowcase inside a cardboard box that has some air holes poked in it. Dark, sturdy, secure, good for snakes. However, this does lead to some funny looks when I'm sitting in the waiting room as folks are coming in with rabbits in soft zip carriers and birds in bird-specific carriers and I'm sitting there with my pet humidifier
