Maybe something happened and you're trying to hide that you're upset and hurting. Maybe it's during a fight, and the second you become injured they pause and refuse to continue until you're well again. Maybe someone ELSE hurt you, and they demand to know who did it so they can avenge your broken bones and lacerated skin. Maybe they have to be the bearer of bad news, and after relaying the message you expect them to just leave but instead they ask you if you're alright.

But just imagine it. The moment you realize your relationship to them has shifted into something else. And you don't know how you feel about it.
