i just realized how asymmetrical i am

why is all the media i’m forced to consume in my honors english three class so like anti women or just has a lack of women in general? we only looked into one women, Emily Dickinson. the time we were reading her poems and learning about her happened to conveniently fall on womens history month. coincidence? i did call out my male english teacher about this and he got rather flustered. honestly, all i do in the class when im not locked in is make him feel uncomfortable about women. it makes me feel rather accomplished. if he isn’t going to offer curriculum outside of the white male, then he can deal with one girl’s criticism every other day. but seriously i understand these stories have important messages and history but why is there constant lack of, criticism, and lack of representation for women and other minorities in the school system. we just finished of mice and men, which i did enjoy. there were a lot of good things about the book but also the only notable female character doesn’t have a name and is only looked at in a negative light until her death. we need a more diverse experiences to look into outside the white male
