𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙

was that [ MAIA MITCHELL ] spotted down at the shoreline of east hamptons main beach? must just be, [ CLOE SYLVESTER ] the [ TWENTY - FIVE ] year old [ NURSE ]. whenever i hear [ PAPER DREAMS by JAMIE N COMMONS ] it reminds me of them. they are known for being [ ARROGANT ] but they make up for that by being [ CHARMING ]. they have been living in the hamptons for [ THREE YEARS ]. ( lara, 23, gmt+2, she/her.) 

location: bus

the hospital wasn’t that far from cloe’s house, sometimes she would just take a walk but her legs were killing her after a long double shift. it was around 23pm, and all she wanted to do was to get home and cuddle with oscar her dog until she falls asleep. she got into the bus and somehow she couldn’t hold her eyes anymore and she was deeply asleep form the first minute she sat down.

Jaden found it difficult to take everything seriously. He needed to add a little humour and amusement every now and again to humble himself. “You would know,” he answered back with a wink, playfully sticking his tongue out at Cloe as the words escaped his mouth. “What flavour would you want to be?” He asked, flipping the question back on her.

“you know, i only speak the truth.” she said back and shrugged playfully and tapped on his shoulder a few times as a comfort. “i think i’m lemon.” she said finally. “an underdog.” she said, but proud. she liked being behind the scenes and people not to expect too much from her. but in the end, she surprised people. “two hot chocolate please.” she requested from the cashier. 

Jaden watched as the femme jumped up and took hold of her dainty hands as he followed her, going wherever she wanted to go. He had never better to do with his time. He liked hanging out with Cloe. “I think I would be cookie dough and cream,” he answered as a smirk spread across his lips. “Why? Because it tastes good, like me.” He winked. Messing around with the girl he was hanging out with.

cloe couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the other guy next to her. she need to learn that he couldn’t be serious all that time with her. “i needed to see this coming.” she scoffed and let out a dry laugh. “you taste fine--” she teased him and they finally got to the hot chocolate booth.

ivy had just arrived back to the hamptons after being away for christmas, it felt so good to be home. she missed the hamptons. she missed her friends. her sister. her house. the girl found herself in target getting herself some necessities that she knew she would be low in at home. ivy was in the frozen foods aisle when she noticed a familiar face. “hey you. long time no see” the girl said smiling at the other. 

cloe was walking around target, she had some time to finally decorate her apartment, walking around with her crib she couldn’t help but smile when she heard ivy’s voice. “hey!” she said and waved. “look who finally showed up!” she joked and went to hug her friend. 

Jaden liked to think he could be a gentleman sometimes. He didn’t want her shoes getting dirty on where everyone else had changed their shoes over.  He did two knots in the shoe, before taking her other leg and doing the exact same thing. “There we go,” he answered with a smirk. Jaden got to his feet, and put his hand out towards Cloe.

it was the small things cloe noticed the most, and that was one of them. “let’s go--” she said as she grabbed his hands and jumped out of her seat with a smile on her face. “so-- i know it’s a stupid question but i think it’s necessary, if you could choose any ice cream flavor to be, what would it be and why?” she asked as they started to walk.

Jaden untied his skates and placed them off to the side, waiting until Cloe’s were off. He made sure both of them got their shoes brought back and placed his own on - before grabbing Cloe’s leg, putting it on his knee to help her get hers back on so she didn’t have to constantly touch thing different. “One knot or two?” He asked. 

jaden took cloe by surprise when he took her leg. she couldn’t help but smirk to him. “two please.” she said, in her head safety first. “such a gentleman.” she teased him leaning back on her arms as she looked at him.

“i just simply think that you need to go out more, meet people, enjoy life.” she sighs while looking over towards her, “instead of being cooped up at a hospital.” this time it was a more teasing tone, she had to give the girl props for doing such a difficult job and working long hours. “i’d definitely take you up on that offer, y’know i love cooking and wine.” 

“you know i might find myself a hot doctor around to be my husband, but sadly they all are married plus three.” she joked with her friend. it wasn’t her plan at all, the last thing she needed is someone who is married to his job like her right now. “then it’s a date.” cloe said cheering, she always loved company from a good friend. “what’s up with you though?”

he knew that she could be just as competitive, which he did encourage. it was more fun that way, almost like they’re challenging one another. glancing at the house, he tilts his head to the side trying to imagine it before nodding her head. “we can do the white chocolate, but do the doors with icing unless you’re able to carve the chocolate into a dome like state.” 

she looked down at the cute house they both were making. “i’m going with you, sounds good.” she replied finally looking up at him. for a second, she was grateful for herself to finally be able to be finally around kai. after a long time, not believing they could be friends. he proved her wrong. “do you mind doing the icing?” she asked. 

Jaden watched as she blew on his hand to try and warm them up and chuckled. “All better,” he joked, knowing it wouldn’t totally warm his hand up but found it sweet at the very least. The brunette looked at the section where people could change their shoes. He sat on the floor to get his skates off, allowing Cloe to take the singular seat that was still there.

she wasn’t a very a physical touch person but since they both were into the other level of physical touch, so she felt more natural with him. “yeah it’s gonna get cold in a second, just wanted to show that i can be cute too.” she  confessed, letting out a a chuckle. she appreciated him letting her sit down on the bench since it was freezing. “thank you--” she replied as she sat down and started to take out her skates. 

Jaden slowed down on the ice as Cloe suggested for the two of them to get a hot chocolate. “I think that’s a good idea. My hands are fucking freezing,” he chuckled. Jaden hadn’t fallen, by being by an ice-skating rink always made him feel cold everywhere. Jaden gently glided them towards the exit and held Cloe’s hand, intertwining his fingers with her own. “What you having? It’s on me.”

cloe smiles at him as he agreed with her to get the hot chocolate. she thought they had a better conversation as they sit over a drink and she won’t think too much about falling over, although cloe knew she won’t feel embarrassed by it with him. “the basic, just hot chocolate. thanks.” she said as they finally arrived to the exit. she took his hands and brought them closer to her lips, blowing some air out to warm them. “let’s get rid of this shell we.” she replied as she looked down at their shoes.

kai had always been competitive, it was one of the traits that he could never let go of while growing up, although he didn’t seem to mind it. always calling it friendly competition with that lazy smirk across his lips. glancing down at what she done, he nods with a grin. “it’s great, we got this in the bag.” he comments as the gingerbread house was coming together. “what else do we have to do?” 

that was something they shared for sure, being competitive. but most of the time when cloe feels like she’s about to loose she back away, which is not a very sporty spirit. “we do--” she said placing her hands on her knees. “we should take a bar of white chocolate and place it like windows and doors, or should we do it with icing?”

a brow rises as she chuckles with a shake of her head, “definitely ironic… just means that you need to get out more. especially on your days off.” she suggested, wiggling her brows at the other. “well, that’s great! but if you don’t, then i’ll definitely be a helping hand.” serenity offers, “yeah, it gets kinda lonely in our house without them there, but i’m trying to make the best of the holiday season, which is why i’ll be spending mostly every night here.” 

״i know--- i know.” cloe said simply. “although i don’t think i will listen to your words, but i will try my best on trying to go out when i’m not exhausted.” cloe told her friends honestly. she was married happily to her job. “great!” she replied clapping her hands, finally arriving to the bloons stand. “you know, you’re always invited over-- we can make some fancy dinner and lots of wine.” she said with a wink.

“I think it’s important as well. I’ve found it difficult to bottle up about my past. I appreciate you not running away from me when I explained how complicated it all was,” he scoffed. Jaden took hold of Cloe’s hand and gently pulled her along the ice with him. He could see that her confidence had grew as she glided around with him. “I’m not going to rush you into saying anything. I just want you to know that I’m and I’m on your side if you ever do need someone.”

“i don’t think there’s something that you can say that will make me run away,” she replied softly, she always told herself not to judge by anything. a person has so much in it’s own mind-- like hers. the only thing that scare her the most is to open up and the other person will just get bored of her and leave. she gave him a nod with a weak smile. “i think we should go get some hot chocolate, what do you say?” she stopped herself praying to got not to fall on the ice. 

he nods his head, thankfully all those years of gingerbread house building with his sister paid off. “sounds good to me.” he nods his head as he began to place frosting upon the ground in a zigzag line to reflect grass as well as make the sprinkles stay in place. moments after he was done with that, he grabs hold of the bottle of sprinkles before going crazy like a child in art class. when he was done, he glances over towards the other with a smile. “what do you think?” 

“great!” she replied and clapped her hands, she took the icing and started to place in on the gingerbread house’s roof softly. they both were determined to do the job perfectly and she loved it. she looked up as she placed the last spot and nodded with a grin. “love it--” she said. “how’s this?” she asked pointing at the roof.

“definitely think that you are,” she says with a shrug as well. “sometimes it’s their dumb decisions that makes them end up at the hospital though,” she points out while shrugging once again, knowing that many people did dumb things to live in the moment and end up in the hospital because of that. “i am! maybe you’ll be able to see it tomorrow.” she mentions with a smile before nodding her head. “yeah, ivy and ana are out of town for christmas this year.” 

she waved her hand off from serenity’s comment. “it’s funny in the end most of the friends i made in town are people who ended up there.” she said placing her hands on her waist, coming to the realization. “i’ll be there and then we’ll glide together, i think i got the hand of it.” cloe said and smiled. “oh-- now i know why i haven’t seen her that much.

“I appreciate that. I know I don’t get sappy or talk about my feelings a lot, but it’s nice to know you don’t mind it and don’t feel weird about it.” He confessed. Jaden liked that Cloe didn’t judge him. He liked that he was allowed to explain and explore his background and she didn’t think any less of him. “You know it’s okay to talk about you feelings towards things as well, right?” He admitted. “I don’t know much about your past either..”

“i appreciate it when people talk about how they feel, it’s important.” cloe told him and gave him an honest smile. she nodded her head gently and back away a little from him but she took his hands with hers. “i know..” she said and paused for a good second. “my past is tricky.” she finally said looking down. “i left it in australia. and it’s gonna stay there.” she added.
